Genoa are reportedly close to tying down Juventus target Cristian Romero to a new contract until 2023.
The highly-rated 20-year-old, who only moved to Italy’s Serie A from Belgrano in his homeland last summer, has impressed greatly for Genoa so far this season, starting 15 of their last 17 league games.

The Argentina Under-20 international’s good form has alerted reigning champions Juve, who are believed to be plotting a swoop in the transfer window when it opens at the end of the season.
However, Genoa are not interested in offloading Romero and they are making plans to ensure the player stays put.
Reports claim the Rossoblu will add an extra year to Romero’s current contract, while potentially including an increase in wages and a release clause in a bid to ward off Juve.
