Edin Dzeko could snub reported suitors West Ham United because of Inter Milan’s interest and his preference to stay in Italy. La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Dzeko said ‘no’ to his ex Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini after Inter Milan started to show an interest in him.
The 33-year-old has only a year left to run on his Roma contract but is not expected to be offered an extension this summer. Inter are understood to be interested as they look to rebuild a strike-force that looks set to lose Mauro Icardi.
La Gazzetta understands the Nerazzurri have already ‘received a positive response’ from Dzeko’s camp but stresses he will only sign if Icardi leaves. West Ham had targeted the Bosnian because of the impending exits of Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez – plus doubts over the futures of both Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez at the club.
