Former Nigerian coach, Gernot Rohr has rated Super Eagles midfielder, Samuel Kalu as one of the best dribbler in Europe.
The German tactician made this known in an interview with AquiTélé as per Girondins4ever.
Rohr believes Kalu’s decline is because he played for coaches who did not show enough confidence in the player’s ability.

“But Samuel Kalu was an excellent dribbler, one of the best dribblers in Europe. He had impressive dribbling stats. I think that, unfortunately, they didn’t know…,” Rohr told AquiTélé as per Girondins4ever.
“There were also a lot of coaches. Kalu had still played quite a bit with Paulo Sousa at one point; then, I saw some good matches with Jean-Louis Gasset.
“Then there was no longer that confidence, he needed to make a difference. He’s a sensitive player,” he added.

So na dribble we won chop abi….No wonder he always field him even when the guy is not in form and not a regular at his low club side. SE need technical players and not a dribbler. In the end your final output with ball in your possession that count not some unsuccessful dribbles
I beg the guy is a baller a good playmaker go and check it’s appearances in the international colour always superb to watch, against Lesotho, Ukraine,
I watched both matches and he was spectacular in those games no doubt. But other matches he played other than those aforementioned are whack. That shows he is not consistent. I might not be a Coach but what i understand in football is for you to be regarded as a top player or world class player, you have to be creative, technically gifted and posses ability to change the dimension of a game.
Please tell us the other matches where he was whack. Or where he was “fielded when the guy is not in form”.
Was it on his debut when he created an assist, or against Libya where he bent a world class finish into the right bottom corner from the left edge of the 18 yard box, or vs SA in Johannesburg when he provided an assist and produced an awesome last ditch goal-saving tackle (that V. Moses refused to produce to help us reach the R16 of 2018 WC).
Was it in the 3rd place game in 2019 AFCON when he came on in the 89th minute and still had 2 shots on target he was Whack, or vs Benin when he opened up a stubborn defence with neat dribbles before bending the ball to the far corner for our winning goal or vs Ukraine when we was almost tearing the entire Ukrainian team into shreds before getting injured…???
This boy contributed about 6 goals in the about 8 games he has ever started for Nigeria and you say he isn’t consistent……LMAoooo. I dont know what sort of consistency you are looking for again.
Doctor Pawpaw, was he talking to you? Do you ever mind your business. Immediately ur antidepressants wear off your start biting all over the place like a demented rottweiler. Lolzzzz, go and use your medicine o. Nigeria is not going to be in Qatar abi you don forget? E be like say dementia sef dey worry you. Lolzzzz. Doctor Isonu…… LOLZZZZ
Kalu has been a good baller for eagles so far, contributed in many aspect to SE and his creativity is not something to forget about. No thanks to injury and deep in form.
GENERAL ROAH!!
NIGERIA’S BEST COACH after WESTERHOLF, BONFREE and KESHI….
If not for the GREED of NFF HE would have suppass their RECORDS…
When healthy, Kalu’s quality is obvious for all to see. He’s not just a good dribbler, he makes assists, scores goals, and even does his part to help out defensively. Has scored some beauties for the SE.
His declining performances are likely due to his failing health. Note that he collapsed on the pitch at least twice recently. I don’t know what his medical issue is, but I believe he needs to sort that out first, for his own peace of mind and to enhance his performance level.
Kalu is an excellent player sentiments aside both for club and country
