Former Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr believes the Terangha Lions of Senegal will still do well at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar without their talismanic forward, Sadio Mane.
Mane has been ruled out of the competition as a result of injury.
The Terangha Lions will open their 2022 campaign today against the Netherlands in a group that also has hosts Qatar and Ecuador.
“In Sadio Mane, they have a star who can make the difference on his own and in Kalidou Koulibaly, a very strong, athletic defender at the back,” he told Wettbasis.
“They have had the same coach in Aliou Cisse for over six years. You have several tactical options.”
Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco and Tunisia are the other teams from the continent that will compete at the competition.

Very sure Senegal is one of the 3 best teams in Africa. Far better than the over hyped, over pompous, and under coached super chickens.
We are in this current state because of sacking you Rohr, we miss you dearly. I know you have African football at heart.
Please always give us news like this to read about you.
I hear. Is Rohr a coach or match analyst/ reader?
Ndi Ara. Is that one a question or what?
The answer is: He is a Sunday School teacher. Nonsense
NFF SWALLOW your PRIDE and bring back GENERAL ROAH!
Rohr should be brought back. The earlier the better. Because I don’t trust Periera or whatever he is called
When Rohr was in charge, he was always humble with his team. He can never tell you we will win. On the contrary, he will hype the opponents. This keeps our players on their toes
But the current coach will tell you we will win. He will even assure you we will win. But at the end of the day, we will lose
