Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr says he will not be ‘asking’ his employers, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) about his contract renewal.
Rohr, who was first appointed by the NFF in August 2016 on a two-year contract
got his first contract renewed for another two years in January 2018 ahead of the
2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. And with his current contract set to expire in June this year, the NFF are considering offering the Eagles boss a new contract, but with new and stringent conditions attached.
In a tweet monitored by Complete Sports on Osasu Obayiuwana’s Twitter handle, the 66-year old gaffer says while he is waiting for the NFF to approach him on the issue, his focus remains with the Eagles and his major concern for now is about the players’s health and fitness especially in the face of the Coronavirus outbreak.
@osasuo: “I will not ask @thenff what is going on with my contract renewal (with just over 3 months left on his present deal). It’s for the NFF to approach me. I am still waiting,” Obayiuwana quotes Rohr on Twitter.

“My job is to focus on the @NGSuperEagles, as long as I am the coach of this team. And I am going to do just that.
“Right now, my concern is that our players in Europe stay physically fit, even when they are not playing, because of the #coronavirus situation.”
Part of the conditions stipulated by the NFF as regards Rohr’s new contract will mandate the coach to live in the country (Lagos or Abuja) and will be allowed to travel on vacation only three times in a year.
Also, the coach will no longer earn tax-free wages unlike before while his selection of players must be approved by the NFF Technical Committee.
Rohr had led Nigeria to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia where the Eagles exited in the group stages and then led the team to a bronze finish at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
He has managed the Eagles in 49 games with 29 wins, 11 draws and 9 losses.

This man deserves a new contract, who knows maybe pinnick is bring Paul aiyelogun
They should let this man go once and for all,the relationship is very sour now and its not good for our football, he has tried his best and I think that his style of football differs from ours.we should look for a new coach and make him understand what we want from him ,not just giving them tax free money and becoming slaves to them, let them know they should monitor home based players but selecting them will be on merit and not by force.
so if you are the super eagles coach now is there any home based player in Nigeria you can use to replace any of our current players ? just be honest name the home based player and who he can replace.
That’s why I said selecting them should be on merit.example, if ndidi was playing for kano pillars today,he wouldn’t be in d national team bcoz he is home based.there is a goal keeper that I can assure u that is better than 1/2 of what we have now,his name is abubakar the olympic under 23 keeper .
If NDIDI was playing for Kano Pillars he would not have achieved his current level of excellence at Leicester
Breaking news NFF is shopping for Mr Rohr replacement taking advantage of the postponement of nations cup qualifiers. Finally they have decided to do away with him no wonder Joseph Yobo refused to communicate with him after his appointment. The handwriting has been on the wall for sometime now. I careless about whom they are employing, what am interested is the coach that will continue from where Rohr stopped and improve on his records and take the team to the promise land. No hard feelings after all that has been the trend world over coaches will come and coaches will go. Mr Rohr you have done well and we your unbiased fans will always appreciate what you have done in super eagles. We wish you the very best anywhere you find yourself.
Are times i wonder if we are cursed with a primitive stone men mentality. How can u be trying to remove someone with result with a trial and error person. Why do we like mediocrity over merit? Let Rohr go! let Rohr go! No problem oh. Na when breeze go blow na him fowl yansh go show. This is Nigeria. God help us.
Rohr is not bad but if we have arsen wenger for replacement, or frank richkard luciano spaletti monteĺla. These are coaches we can be assured of taking us to another level anything less than that is a riskooh. I still surggest we appoint amunike or salisu to assist rohr bcos rohr have a good man management wish is needed in the team. Honestly me self i confuse
There is evidence everywhere that Yobo has bribed the NNF scribes with huge USD to lobby for this job. They already accepted his offer. They will announce Rohr replacement in the future. These corrupt fools will lick your a@@ if you are willing to pay for it in US dollar. They don’t have Nigeria football interest in their hearts but their own pockets. They are the worst animals in the jungle, l can tell you. If you think that Yobo don’t have the money to buy his way, then you don’t know his net worth.
Lolz. I always like to read your comments @Edoman.
If you could remember my comments about Amaju and his group last year, I said a lot about these our oppressors but some of us on this forum were kicking against me.
But today you guys are complaining. This is just the beginning of our oppressors.
They are just messing around. Mr. Rohr doesn’t deserve this. Well, ire o. God bless Nigeria
Did you just say “Mr. Rohr doesnt desrve this”? Omo9jaaaa, arguing with you is like wasting precious time.
The guy can lie…! LMAO.
Rohr doesn’t deserve this my foot. Coming from the lips of the same person who has been baying to see the back of Rohr for the past 3 years….Lolz
You are very big and chronic liar! So, all of a sudden, u claim to be in support of the retention of rohr??? I can’t believe this. This was how u denied being against keshi, calling him gather and play coach on kon back in the day. Wonders shall indeed never end.
Lolz. My people, cool down. This my attitude shows that I hate nobody and I hate cheating.
I say things the way they are. I love coach Rohr and but he is not capable of building Super Eagles to the level we wanted the team to be except NFF give him some to help him.
My advice to you, let’s be honest in whatever we may be doing.
Mr. Rohr deserves something better than this. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Rohr should continue to focus on his job. I’m confident that the NFF will renew his contract. His salary should be adjusted upwards to accomodate the taxes, so his take home pay remains the same, at a minimum.
I think that rohr is not a bad coach. He is a good man manager. He is like a father to the players. But he needs some technical help by way of assistance. With such assistance from someone like amunike, the eagles will go places. I don’t trust yobo’s appointment. We need someone who is already seasoned in the game and not a green horn.
Please replace Rohr with Seedorf, thank you.
What does it matter, there is no football for the foreseeable future. About 18 months of no football, so nff and rohr should sort themselves out. #WEAKLINGS
As much as it is obvious Rhor isn’t technically witty and i wasn’t in total support of him in the beginning, there is no gainsaying to how much impact this man has made in the Super Eagles and in our players career individually so NfF must trade with caution on how they are handling this matter.Rhor should be retained and maybe bring someone who can complement his efforts to assist him but someone who would be willing to work with Rhor respectfully.Otherwise,he should be left alone to continue with the good work he is doing already. We must appreciate what he has been able to bring to Nigerian football. He may not be the best in the world but he sure has something in his kitty that has made him successful on the super eagles job. They say ‘a bird at hand is far better than ten birds in the forest’ so plz NFF trade with caution.
The problem is very simple. Nff want to always doctor the team list and Rohr doesnt agree with them. They want to always include boys who pay them bribes and the coach says no. Thats the only reason for their hatred against Rohr.
Methinks some fiery demons have broken into the Glass House. When one thinks the NFF are becoming pragmatic, rational and realistic, and would release the contract paperwork—appropriately augmented to motivate the coach—they regress into silence, hatching other destructive plots. It is as if they don’t even consider the views of fans, who have written extensively on the benefits of retaining this disciplined and result-oriented coach.
The NFF are like lemmings compulsively heading for the deep sea. What else can we do, but to watch. LEFAM FOR GOD—as an old lorry that used to ply my village roads announced.
Rohr should call their bluffs by resigning and let’s see their new messiah, trust me folks Yobo or Amunike can’t handle super Eagles, this two guys are products of the corrupt system, with them merits call ups would be discarded mediocrity would be the new norms.By the way I’m not a huge fan of Rohr, but is selections are based on merits, precise the man has done a good job, is contract should be renewed he deserves it.These bunch of clowns would not rest until they set the Eagles backwards again.
It will be a sin on my part to continue being silent over this issue.
It’s true that oga Rohr have tried for the team, from being super chicken to green eagles but we must move to the next level.
We are Super Eagles! Teams should be afraid playing against us and not the other way round.
Genort Rohr can’t take us to the height we wish or supposed to be, he has many faults, from late substitution to not giving players he called up a chance to prove themselves (one wonders why he invited them in the first place) to lack of self-confidence (he can’t beat a team above him on paper or FIFA rankings) his team lack competitiveness in all areas thereby making some players feel relaxed in their positions.
With the players we have now we expect Nigeria to be up there in world football but we’re still average.
Someone should please view our last 5 matches again and come back to tell that Rohr is a world class coach.
If only the NFF can get us Madagascar’s coach that would be a big good news.
Last 5 matches and rankings of teams at the time:
Lesotho (No 140) 2:4 Nigeria (no 31)
Nigeria (No 31) 2:1 Benin (No 84)
Brazil (No 3) 1:1 Nigeria (No 31)
Ukraine (No 22) 2:2 Nigeria (No 33)
Tunisia (No 25) 0:1 Nigeria (no 45)
1 win each Home, away & neutral ground and 2 away draws (11 out of 15 points), and has used 35 players during the period, with 2 new debutante set for the next round of matches, yet his team is not competitive…he has to play 11 different players every match. Lolz
“…Rohr can’t beat a team above him on paper on FIFA rankings…” yet he moved us from 70th in the world to 31st within 3yrs…..how a team moves at least 10 places annually without defeating teams above them beats imagination. Hatred no be small thing o…Lolz
Go and bring your world class coach that you will be paying $50k per month before tax na. LMAO
You can’t make your own comments, all you are good at is only trolling other people’s comments and seeking relevance .
I know they say that truth is bitter so I will try to avoid you and continue speaking the truth.
Talking about the last five games we had, the results maybe deceiving but the truth is that those games are games we can win, is not just starting well but how you manage the game, how the team played and winning is what is more important.
The current Eagles is a team that will be begging for a draw against big opposition even though we first score those teams.
That’s not the Eagles we dreamed of.
So between the two of us now who was lieing….??? LMAO.
Yes I dont make my own comments….but I dont come out to tell lies in public too, just because i want to make someone look bad. Lolz.
This is not the eagles you dreamt of, which one did you dream of, the one that couldn’t qualify for common AFCON back-to-back…??? If the current eagles is one which is begging for draw, why would top teams like Ukraine, Brazil, Germany and Netherlands be looking for opportunities to engage us in friendlies…? It seems you have been hanging out too much with Omo9ja of late…LMAO
#FACTS DONT LIE….!!!
If you want to argue, argue with the record books.
Peace…!
https://www.uefa.com/european-qualifiers/friendlies/match/2028146–ukraine-vs-nigeria/statistics/
That’s the link to match stats of the Ukraine friendly…clearly showing were the better team on the day….pls show us where we begged for draw…LMAO
Even Ukraine’s equalizer was a clear handball which the linesman spotted but the ref chose to ignore.
I dont know why people would just be telling white lies and still argue about it in this age where the correct information is a click away…Lolz
I’ll be doing myself a very big disservice to start again butressing the corrupt and evil antics of the nff and her cabal against a man who has done tremendously well over a very short period of time with meager resources at his disposal coupled with the incessant attacks against him both physically and spiritually. Hence, I plead with you on my knees to just resign and go where you shall be appreciated whilst giving them the ample opportunity to bring in the coach of their choice whom they feel will dance to their tune like a puppet and take us to the heights preferable to them.someone whom they can lobby with bribes and draw us 100 steps backwards. To All you wishing for his resignation, don’t worry , you shall get your heart desires soon and then you’ll know the difference. Ighalo, whom everybody now reveres as one our greats and wants him to return to the national team was once in this s same position but Gos in his infinite mercies has prepared a table for him in the presence of his enemies and their mouths have been shamelessly shut. With that same mouth they used to abuse him, they have used to bless him and clamour for his return. He’d better not, to teach us a lesson yet again which is to appreciate and cherish what we have. Mr rohr, you have really tried ,your records speak for you. Pls,resign and go where your handwork shall be appreciated. You cannot be working in the midst of venomous deadly sick reptiles of different species. Nigerians wanted change in 2015 and I believe we are all happy with the “change” being felt everywhere.
This man called Goal, How much were you paid for all these your allegations and negativity against the person of Mr Rohr
I’m not a praise singers like some of you! Reality and truth is my hallmark.
You can join @Drey with his lies, he has begin to form a cabal group in this forum.
The latest lie is that Germany and Nederland are looking for opportunities to engage us in a friendly match, as if he’s talking to someone without access to internet.
Hehehehehe…Truth is really your hallmark…! That’s why you have no facts to back up your fat lies….LMAO. You obviously have access to internet, only that you don’t have the IQ to use is properly
https://sportinglife.ng/international-friendly-germany-gives-conditions-to-play-super-eagles-in-2020/
Olodo, click and read o.
I will try getting you the link to the approach for the Netherlands friendly when i have time.
Mr “unlimited access to internet”…..LMAO, yet will come to CSN to bomb us with lies. Lolz
From your so called links it didn’t show they’re looking for opportunities to engage us as you said above instead they are only giving us conditions in order for them to play us.
It’s more of we begging to play them simple.
Hehehehe…..you are not even ashamed to click the link to read. LMAO. A “liar” gave you a link to read and you without shame clicked it to read. You that “Truth is your hallmark”, when will you start sharing links to back up your fat lies and fictitious concoctions..?
I bet with all your ‘access to internet’, you never ever knew there was something in the offing or even any interaction with the German FA ab initio. Lolz
That the news piece only shared the terms proposed by the DFB doesn’t mean we were begging them….otherwise why would they want it to be played in their home (considering all the logistics that goes with that) and why would they want us to provide guarantee of the availability of our best Europe based players…..those who understand the business of football marketing and organizing friendly matches know those are terms the host usually proposes/determines.
Assuming we were begging them as you claimed, Would they have even listened to us if it were the days of the SE of your dreams when we were still ranked 70th in the world…? The fact that they listened and were willing to exploit options and conditions shows enough interest and readiness to engage us. Teams like Germany, Brazil or England wouldnt even listen to you if you weren’t up to scratch or outside the top ranked teams in the world…unless its pre-world cup period when they MUST play a team from a certain region to accustom themselves to their style of play.
To think that this negotiations happened after we had played Ukraine and Brazil and shown we are not a team that “begs for draws” according to your lies, shows how much respect we have earned for ourselves.
Just like I said, When i’ve got time, I’ll lay my hands on the scoops about the Netherlands approach too and surely share it. I know you will shamelessly read that one too. LMAO.
At least its good you are reading them, you’ll stop coming to a public forum to insult our collective sensibilities with fallacies.
Nice one @drey…. Nuff said…
bet with all your ‘access to internet’, you never ever knew there was something in the offing or even any interaction with the German FA ab initio.
It’s just old news, so cool down.

Yea…its old news.
You probably didnt have money to renew your internet subscription at that time when it broke…that’s why you come here arguing blindly and telling fat lies rather than listen and learn. Lolz
Can someone give me one reason why Rohr keeps inviting Ezenwa to the Eagles team? A guy that was a constant 2nd choice when he was with Enyimba, So why did he constantly overlook the First Choice?. . .. . . I just need an answer to this! thanks guys
Sorry I don’t have an answer for you. Battling with same question myself. In any case, Ezenwa is happy travelling and collecting alawi. One low point for Rohr.
You will soon be tag a lier for saying the obvious.
Maybe we should go back to how Ezenwa even got into the team from the onset. As at 3-4 seasons ago when he was at IUFC, he was unarguably the best goalie in the league, but that I can’t guarantee in the seasons he spent at Katsina Utd and Enyimba, partly due to injuries and his constant international engagements. I personally would have loved to have another goalkeeper from the league in place of Ezenwa, but the question is…which one is head and shoulders better than him currently in the league…? Which one has enough or more international experience or exposure than him. Which one can we call upon at short notice to face fire (like the emergency situation that saw Ezenwa debut in a crucial WCQ against almighty Cameroon home and away) without conning out unscathed. Even in the days of Oliseh…Ezenwa was top choice amongst the home lads. He was 1st choice goalie for 2016 Chan. In 2018 Chan when we had 5 of the best homebased goalies in camp (Ezenwa, Ajiboye, Afelokai, Olufemi & the tall former Akwa Utd goalie- Ojo or so), Ezenwa still beat them all to the no 1 shirt. I stand to be corrected though….but in this current season, he is still one of those with the highest number of clean sheets in the league with heartland. Afelokai had a chance with the last Chan team but didn’t cover himself in glory. I’ve also monitored Enyimba’s continental campaign this year….and it’s been blunders upon howlers from Theo.
Any homebased goalkeeper that wants to displace Ezenwa at International level must be levels ahead of him such that cannot be ignored, unfortunately, the only 2 goalkeepers that I can class in that category aren’t even Nigerians….Fatau Dauda and Nana Bonsu. So let Ikechukwu enjoy his trips and allowee while it lasts….that is the lot of reserve goalkeepers. Ask the likes of peterside idah, Emmanuel babayaro, Austine Ejide, Rotimi Sunday and the likes.
This is just a highlight of the match.

“….even dominating possession …”
That was where your lies caught up with you…LMAO.
You didn’t show the stats between your mighty super eagles under Rohr vs Brazil to see if they performed better.
Hehehehe….just cover your shame and agree all your lies have been busted one after the other.
“We begged Ukraine for a draw”…. the match stat show you are lying.
“Senegal dominated Brazil”….match stats and highlights prove otherwise.
“The SE’s last 5 matches are nothing to write home about”….results show we had 11 points in 15 matches.
“Rohr cannot beat any team above him on FIFA rankings”….Results show we defeated Tunisia that was 20 solid places above us at AFCON. And we’ve defeated the likes of Poland, Argentina, Iceland etc in the past.
Oga Your lies have found you out. If “truth is your hallmark” and you lie this much….I’m imagining otherwise you could have been worse than omo9ja.
Go and get busy and stop being such a pathetic liar.
I don’t have time for you and you tons of lies.
@ Goal
My sincere apologies for inserting myself into discuss;
Without iota of bias, sometimes ball possession doesn’t tell the whole story of a game.
A game is played according to tactics set out by the respective teams.
Some teams are happy to give away possession to the team of the other and play on the counter.
That may lie their strength.
It doesn’t mean they are weak, it only means they are wiser and out there for one thing and one thing only, to get the results.
Teams like Manchester United, Sheffield United, Rb Leipzig has successfully used it this season against quality opposition and always gotten results.
I believe that’s Rohr’s style of play when it comes to playing against quality teams.
I understand you don’t fancy such style of play( in some ways, neither do I) but I do understand some times you have to be realistic with your chances and stick to a style that has worked for you 90percent of the time and a style that gives you results. Although we enjoy the entertainment but football is a result oriented game.
We might have played man to man against Brazil and got squashed, that might damage the positive momentum we are building.
On the contrary, we didn’t play badly against Brazil; we didn’t do much with the ball attack wise but we got to see our quality off the ball , a side we haven’t seen in the Super Eagles before. We learned that when shove comes to push, we can weather the storm.
Going forward, I think Rohr does tweak his style according to the opposition we play but he is one so stringent and would always stick to organisation over flair;which is standard by me.
Against weaker opposition like Benin,Lesotho and to some extent Ukraine;we actually dominated the game and dictated the play albeit with some flair . So we can always credit Rohr for that as well.
You should understand, just because you have lots of bullets doesn’t mean you should use all at once. You use them accordingly..
Rohr is not perfect but he is good for now..
Just my thought
Very good write up
I can’t fault your submission. You killed it with d first shot.
Every coach sticks to what works depending on his opponent. Liverpool Vs Athletico Madrid is a typical case study of sticking to what works for you per time.
Even a blind man knows we can’t boss Brazil when it comes to ball rotation…not many countries in the world can do that. Senegal was able to have as much as 47% of possession simply by their physicality with which they often used to bully the Brazilians who weren’t in anyway ready to risk their legs over a friendly. Even with the rough edge play of the Senegalese, the Brazilians still created over 80% of clear cut chances in the game. In the end 6:6 shots on target and ,1 goal apiece
We on the other hand chose to let them have the ball and do all the running while we concentrated on our strength which is our ability to break at speed with the youth in our forward arsenal. It’s a game plan….a SWOT analysis of your team and that of your opponents determined how you approach them.
Despite Brazil having 70:30 ball possession we ended the game with 6:5 shots on target and 1 goal apiece. Pls btw us and Senegal who played a more efficient game…? These are the metrics that make sport scientists smile…but one ignoramus interprets it as “begging for draws” LMAO. Quite surprisingly we were never accused of parking the bus. The Brazilians said after the game we gave them a tougher test than the overtly physical Senegalese. Even neutrals who watched both matches admitted the Nig Vs Brazil game was the more entertaining of the two. So how can it be even when we weren’t blessed with so much possession of the ball…? It’s simple efficient execution of what works for you.
But while for the umpteenth time outsiders are appreciating our players and our team, bold faced lairs (masquerading as harbingers of truth) and twisting facts and concocting anti-logics just to look for something bad to say about our team.
But thank God the truth is never hard to find. Just one click and you are sorted….except for those who even in the face of the obvious allow their bitterness to block their reasoning.
Show a little bit maturity in your comments @Drey
I never insulted any one, so you stop insulting people please.
You never insulted anyone…?
You appear to me as one who always means the exact opposite of what you say…..from claiming to represent the Truth, yet every damn thing youve said in the last 24 hrs is a fat lie that you yourself cannot prove or claiming you didn’t insult anyone, when you’ve been aiming digs and dry shades at me all the way.
Maybe you should go back and read all you’ve written thus far. I guess Words/phrases like……. ‘trolling people’s comments’ (even when all you’ve be doing too is replying people’s threads), ‘Drey and his lies’ (Even when it is visible to the blind you’ve been the one telling all sorts of lies), ‘seeking relevance’, ‘forming a cabal on this forum’ (I don’t know how sensibly possible that is)….. all sound like compliments to you right???
You’ve been spreading fallacies here for the past 24 hrs yet you asking for someone to show maturity….let me tell you what maturity is…. maturity is not knowing and admitting not knowing….rather than telling lies and making assertions that you can’t back up with facts, figures and evidence. Maturity is having the emotional intelligence to succumb to superior logic without the feeling of being slighted. That’s what you millennials don’t have in abundance.
Excellent analysis as usual!!
The point is that Rohr is not perfect but he is manageable!!!!!!!!
I agree perfectly, we are not the NFF, so if they decide they don’t want to renew oga Rohr’s contract I wouldn’t mind going for something better, that’s my point.
I couldn’t have agreed less or put this in better words. It’s the being “realistic” and failure to appreciate that soccer is “result-oriented” that makes me wonder why we should change Rohr at this stage. Don’t we understand that success in any field of human endeavour entails going through a process?
Heaven will not fall if nff fail to renew his contract he is not the only coach. he is not the type of coach we need. We need a good and quality coach. i dont see GR doing more than what he has been doing since 2016. this is our time to shock the world we have the players to win world cup but not with GR. Nff please dont renew his contract go for a young and experience coach.
Hehehehehe…of course heavens will not fall. The SE job is not Rohr’s father’s property, he will go someday
But as some of you are secretly regretting chasing Ighalo away now, you will also start hitting fingers when the time comes.
The NFF has started by hiring a fashion model without any coaching training, license or certification as Asst Manager of the national team and heavens did not fall….you all clapped for them. Don’t worry, they will employ a Carpenter as head coach and heavens will still not fall. Those your world best players that you have now playing for Man city, Liverpool, Bayern, PSG, Juve, Madrid and Barca will surely win the WC in 2022. Let them hire their world class coach that they will be paying $50k per month before tax and still be dictating to him who and who gets invited and who and who gets to play.
As for me, Let me go and start dusting my old calculator in readiness for that.
All I can say is let Rohr go and watch the SuperEagles gradually return to the days of missing back to back AFCONs. Let Rohr go and watch the SuperEagles gradually return to be ranked 70th in the world. Let Rohr go and let mediocrity become the norm of the day. For now I go siddon look.
What’s my business…. Afterall i saw my sister with one CASIO CALCULATOR….
Only waiting for ROHR to be fired, then i’ll majestically ask my sister to lend me the calculator…..
That is when u will see NIGERIA struggle to draw with LESOTHO, SIERA LEON or GABON….. Afterall, in 2015 afcon qualifiers, nigeria GALLANTLY & COMFORTABLY finished 3rd in a group that has SOUTH AFRICA, CONGO, SUDAN &NIGERIA….
I will not be surprise if we fail to qualify for the next WC….
Your evil prayers against super eagle will not work. You dont want super eagle to progress that is why you are clamouring for GR to continue. If manchester united can sack morinho who is GR?.
The fact is there for all to see, SuperEagles have been progressing since Rohr took charge of the team. We’ve gone from a 70th ranked team to 31st now and that is significant progress. It is your evil prayers to let Rohr go that will not work. You will be miserable for at least two more years until after the 2022 wordcup.
Nawa o! Where are these people coming from? How many Tournament have we played since the so called 2016? A country came Third after missing out in 2 different tournaments , lost to the eventual winner and you people are making it to look as if we have played 15 tournaments without winning anything. Someone even said we should go for Madagascar coach..later they will still come out ask their usual question “How many silverware has he won?” If Rohr call new players they will say ..”he kept rebuilding since 2016″ if he calls the same old players, they will be mentioning names…Okereke, Adi, Ejuke, Eze,Fatai Alashe etc.
Don’t worry..your type of coach will come..that will be picking Rabiu Ali ahead of Iwobi..Lol!
Non of these guys have made any comments about Madagascar’s coach I mentioned above, if he is better than Rohr or not, they are only given us fake prophecy of returning to 70 in FIFA rankings.
So bcos the Madagascar coach led a team that defeated us in a dead rubber game where we took our foot off the gas and suddenly u think he’s the one to replace rohr? I really marvel at how some people reason, it’s really absurd that someone would reason like this. Why wouldn’t u suggest the same thing when Liverpool, potential winners of this season’s premeirship were taken to the cleaners by a team struggling for survival at the bottom of the log. God has given us a thinking faculty and hence, he expects us to use it appropriately, not to be making a fool of ourselves. I’ve been following your posts for a while but I’ve been forced to write u. Omo9ja was once in this same place u are now but he’s beginning to realize he’s been making a fool of himself all this while and wants to get delivered from this evil spell. Your arguements on why rohr should leave have been so lame and stupid even when facts have been presented to u to suggest otherwise. Pls, stop making yourself foolishly popular here.
Honestly, why do you want GR to leave? SE is doing well. What more do you want? It’s not that long ago we were struggling to qualify for Afcons. GR brought stability and merit based selection to the team. The only thing I see from people clamouring for his removal is that he has limited the opportunity for bribery and, maybe refused to sell slots.
**The only thing I see from people clamouring for his removal is that he has limited the opportunity for bribery and, maybe refused to sell slots.
That’s a wrong conclusion from you, Africans with their mentality, so because he did averagely well we should not aspire for more?
That’s how we will be known as a developing nation till the kingdom come.
@Goal:
Pls stop getting things twisted in here. In as much as everyone is entitled to his own opinion, i still strongly believe we can do some fact-checking before coming in here to mis-inform people. Obviously, no one is saying Rohr shld stay-on forever but @Drey and others are just seemingly pointing you to the facts and figures as regards @SE performances (Open Data) between when this man took over and now (the difference is like night and day).
Having said that, if at all the administrators of football in the land feels we are stuck at a level and they think @Rohr cannot take us to the next level despite the glaring stats of steady progress of the last 3 yrs plus, good luck to them. Need i remind them though that a certain world class Seadorf failed with Cameroon at AFCoN 2019, infact he lost to Rohr’s SE and it is not all coaches who knows their onus and trade that will take the sh*t NFF throws at Rohr, what about the work enivronment, isn’t it a shame that Nig has only one playable standard lush green pitch (Uyo), how many world class coach in quote would accept to play at Asaba.
My advise to Rohr is if your employers tell you your services aren’t needed any more, no hazzles, pls leave. Your achievement with the SE is already embedded in the sand of history.
Ps: @Madgascar Coach, very laughable
There’s nothing wrong in aspiring for greater things only if we can afford it. Unless you want to bring a coach in the caliber of klopp or Pep or Conte or Maurinho, pay them what they’re currently earning and give them players from Juve, Barca, Madrid, Man City, Liverpool and the likes then maybe we can win the world cup. LMAO!! I laugh in Hausa. Which world cup are you winning?? You and your likes are not even thinking of a quarter final outing you’re already thinking of winning the mundial with the Caliber of players at our disposal. Is it not with help of Rohr that you can now dream of aspiring for greater things?? When our players were playing in Latvia, Estonia, Isreal, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech republic and the likes did you ever aspire for greater things at the time??? So now because we have players playing regularly in Serie A, Eredivise, La Liga, Premiership, Bundesliga all with the help of Rohr you’re now aspiring to win the world cup??? I can’t stop laughing at some peoples level of reasoning. It’s so pathetic to say the least. I want to see the world class coach that will do better than the progress Rohr has made thus far.
@Ayphilly
Pls leave them, let them keep dreaming of their world class coach. The miserly $50k per month they are paying Rohr doesn’t come regularly, yet they want “world-class” coaches who earn above $100,000 per month. They should go and ask Cameroon what they benefited from hiring “World class”. Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert.
Out of Rohr’s $50k, he personally pays Adelakun, the physical trainer, the goalkeeping coach (pionetti abi Wetin be in name), Agali (his scout), his video analyst and the other oyibo technical assistant….a hoard of assistants because he know NFF employees and mere political appointees (confirmed by the appointment of a fashion runway model without any coaching training or badges as the immediate assistant coach of the MNT). Yet the NFF still wants to give him a pay cut as a reward for raising our level from a team that struggles to qualify for tournaments (since 2002 till 2017) to one that qualifies with games to spare, from a team of players playing in backwater leagues in Europe to one with the core of the team in top 5 leagues, from rubbing shoulders with the likes of Malawi, Niger and Namibia in 70th position to rubbing shoulders with the like of Ukraine, Senegal etc at the top. Yet these enemies of progress clap for every of these destructive and retrogressive moves by the NFF (cutting your nose to smite your face) and still either complain Rohr earns too much or look for lies to discredit the good work which the rest of the world can bear witnesses to. All of a sudden, our current crop of players can win the world cup, when none of them is playing in even the quarter finals of UCL or Europa leagues yet…..LMAO. Whereas, Rohr started with most of them when they were still playing in clubs that couldn’t even quality for European competitions in their various leagues.
Let them go and get their world class coach…. hopefully he won’t run away after his first unpaid salary….LMAO
@Dr.Drey, listen attentively as I am talking to you this Thursday morning.
Look young man, I’m not 100% satisfied with Oga Rohr. You will ask me why, okay no problem.
Here is the reason, Mr. Rohr Failed to produce a reliable goalkeeper and a left fullback. He kept relying on Akpayi and Ighalo. Too bad.
This is very bad. Yeah it is. Although, the French man is manageable if NFF are that smart.
I can see clearly that the gentleman really loved Nigeria.
I would love NFF to pear him with one of our ex player that really understands the game of football inside out but NFF have their own agenda. That is for sure.
It seems like they are using Yobo to demolish coach Rohr.
In one word, it is too late to fire Mr. Rohr now and any attempt to do so, it is going to backfire. NFF would have fired him immediately after the world cup in Russia.
My Advice to NFF, let the man continue and hire another ex player to support Oga Rohr and Yobo.
Yobo should be the 3rd assistant coach not the second.
Dr. Drey, at this stage, you have to be careful. I know you love Oga Rohr but you can’t love him more than me. That is strange to you right?
Mr. Dr. Drey, if I were you, I will play smart this time around. Super Eagles is our team. That means, majority carry the vote.
Remember this my word? “We hire and we fire”.
Hmmm, Mr. Dr. Drey, as from today, I don’t want to hear that you are using bad words or fighting anyone because of Mr. Rohr. Enough is enough.
He has done his best no doubt but you as a young man, you need to be patient a little more if you want Oga Rohr to achieve something meaningful in the end.
Mr. Dr. Drey, I want you to behave yourself on this site from now on if you really want me to be proud of you.
This may sound funny but deep down inside you, you know that I don’t joke with our Super Eagles.
I want coach Rohr to stay on one condition. He need somebody like Amunike or Eguavon to assist him and Yobo to under study them.
Understood? Good. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
“…Mr. Dr. Drey, I want you to behave yourself on this site from now on if you really want me to be proud of you….”
I will rather prefer the devil to be proud of me, to you Omo9ja being proud of me, bcos that means i must have become a bold-faced, double-mouthed pathetic pathological lair too. People like Chima and Goal who have been moving with you of late have already caught the virus from you and are starting to tell fat lies in public too. I guess you must be feeling proud of them. Anybody who thinks he/she can make a caricature of me at this age, education, experience and competencies will meet me here. No man is an highland of stubbornness. If you feel comfortable aiming a dig at me, then be my guest. Lolz. I’ll have fun, like I always do, while engaging you in equal (sometimes unequal) measure
“…Mr. Rohr Failed to produce a reliable goalkeeper and a left fullback…”, No….Mr Rohr is Razak Okoya Eleganza or Innoson motors that has factory where they manufacture football players. You why not mention any goalkeeper and leftback anywhere in the world that is currently better than the ones we have and give us their stats and figures for this season lets all see…if truely they are head and shoulders better than the ones we have. You used to shout Afelokhai up and down on this forum until the guy chop 6…yes SIX goals from TOGO HOMEBASED hand. Na him we for go give Neymar, Mahrez, and Salah. This same Mr Rohr ‘produced’ midfielders after Mikel and Ogu retired, he ‘produced’wingers after Victor Moses and Ahmed Musa became unavailable, he ‘produced’ defenders when Balogun, Shehu and Ebuehi became injured, he also ‘produce’ strikers when our 4th all time leading scorer ever was chased out of the SE by people like you with bad and poisonous mouths. Yet we are not even feeling the absence of all these players, within 2 years…that’s 8 key members of the team left within the last 2 years, yet we cant even feel their absence, you will never ever credit him for that….it is your 18yr Okonkwo in Arsenal academy or your Fanendo Adi in MLS that must be in the SE for you to be satisfied.
You say he kept on relying on Ighalo, pls which coach puts his all time topscorer on the bench for strikers who are not scoring….? Arsenal – Aubameyang, Chelsea – Tammy, Bayern – Lewandoswski, Barca – Messi, Madrid – benzema, Liverpool – Salah, Mane, Man U – Rashford….pls tell us which coach keeps his best striker on the bench for any reason apart from injuries. Was Ighalo not on the bench when your Onuachu (who you claim you dicovered after scoring agaisnt egypt, but you have since kept mum ever since he started fumbling), Chukwueze etc could not hurt Burundi at the nations cup…? Was is not the same Ighalo that came off the bench to rescue us from humilitation in that match…? You claimed Ighalo is not the type of striker we need because of your hatred for him, but to show the world how your brain dey touch at times, immediately he started scoring for Man U, you changed mouth and told Rohr to start teaching the strikers to play like Ighalo, yet, hes not the type of striker we need o.
To further confirm that you have brain wave issues, you once congratulated NFF for employing that fashion model without any training or license as Asst Coach of the SE and even said he knows more football and is tactically better than Rohr (who was an ex football legend and has been coaching even before yobo bought his first boots), Aliou cisse and Belmadi put together…..now you have changed mouth again and now know that “…NFF is using Yobo to demolish coach Rohr and Yobo should be the 3rd assistant coach not the second…”, a person whom you claim is better than the Gold, Silver and Bronze winning coaches at the AFCON be made 3rd asst coach.
I dont love Rohr, rather I respect and admire him; he’s not my brother, hes not my inlaw, neither am i his inlaw, Ive never met him before and never had any interactions with him, but I give him credit for all he has done so far….lookig at where we were coming from. Rising 10 places every year without dropping is no mean feat. Qualifying for 3 straight major competitions with games to spare is unprecedented in the history of Nigerian football. From not qualifying for common AFCON 2 straight times to loosing the semifinals (Final if it were still 16 teams in AFCON) at the 94th minute and then going on to beat a team 20 place above us in the fifa rankings for the bronze medal is tremendous, when you look at the fact that a certain “World Class” Paul le Guen who had won French league 6 times, ran away/ or declined the job when he was offered, with same conditions and target that was given to Rohr….he claimed they where UNREALISTIC. But these unrealistic target is what Rohr has met and is even surpassing, but evil people want him to be fired. Fired for reaching his targets…abeg does that make sense..? Most of you were even happy wen NFF gave him a contract with a pay cut…pls where in the world is that done…????
He has met his target, his win ratio is only second to that of Westerhoff in the history of coaches in Nigeria, we have a team that can easily pass for our U23 national team, we have a team that plays exciting, purposeful and result-oriented football, we dont have fights in camp, our players are not fighting NFF, we dont play heart-attack football, we dont use calculators anymore, top teams are willing to play us in friendlies (the era of playing Jamaica or South Africa all the time is gone), even foreign borns are now more excited to play for Nigeria…all Under this same Rohr you want to get rid of. and how much resources do you give him…..a miserly $50k per month, but he must pay his PA, his TA, his Physical trianer, His scout, his goalkeeping coach (6 people on top $50k, so wetin remain…?)
Go ahead and fire him if you like. Let us see what your Fashion Model or the carpenter they will employ afterwards will do under the same circumstances
@Dr Drey, much respect for your comprehensive analysis and true facts to back your arguments. But sir the issue on the ground is this, GR is a very conservative person and lack some decisive actions when it comes to killing off games, the game against Argentina for instance is still fresh in our memory. The achievement of GR so far with SE is boils down to the fact that he has brought something that has been lacking in SE for over 2 decades now which is good work ethnics, descipline and merit in team selections. Further more, we have to admit the fact that GR is not too sounds Tactically but if we should should move to the next level we have to hire a Young, vibrant and technically sound coach (that’s the new trend in modern days football, But at the moment I Don’t think Mr “fashion model” is capable for that Task. But for now I totally agree with you that we don’t have any option that’s better than GR.
God bless Africa.
@Tanco
Agreed, Rohr has his weaknesses.
There as never been a time when he won the FIFA best coach of the year. So no one has named him “the perfect one”.
But With all his conservative-ness and all you say he is, he has only lost 9 out of 49 games (18% of his games) and has a win ratio of 59%. You can check it all up on wikipedia. So if you say someone who has a 59% win ratio is not tactically sound, then I wonder who is. lets bring out all the stats of our coaches since independence and see who had a 59% win ratio amongst them all. Football is a results oriented profession. If you are a box of tactics and you are loosing games, your employers will tell you to go to hell with your tactics. Arsene Wenger would have still been at Arsenal by now if he had been constantly winning something for Arsenal. If you have all the tactics in the world and your players fail to do their job (like Victor Moses failing to even make an effort to mark Rojo with 6 mins to the end of the Argentina match or wilfred Ndidi giving away a very needless freekick in a very promising position with seconds to go in the Algeria match knowing how deadly mahrez can be with such gifts), then I wonder if the tactics will jump onto the pitch and replace the players.
We have had the so-called “Young, vibrant and technically sound coaches” in the last decade (including Pep Guardiola of Africa)…..what did it earn us….3 absents from 4 AFCONS.
NFF should sack Rohr if they want, but should anything happen to this exciting, dynamic, painless, heart-attackless, free flowing, U23 team that we have now…..posterity will never forgive any of you. Siasia had Kalika (the moment kalika is not there he falters), Oliseh had Luscioto abi na Lusckito abi wetin be the guy name, Keshi had Valere Houndinho (the moment Houndinho was let go by NFF Keshi started faltering), Westerhoff had Bonfrere…these guys are called TECHNICAL ADVISERS. If they feel he needs technical assistance, they should get one for him based on his recommendation and pay him, not Rohr having to share $50k per month amongst 6 or 7 personal employees…..yet we expect him to produce results which $200k per month coaches are producing. Lagerback came here and we gave hime $220 per month to take a far better team than our current team to the worldcup only to get 1 point in a weaker group than our 2018 group.
You have some valuable points @Dr.Drey. but I’m really concerned about your attitude.
The way you are behaving on this platform tells a lot about you.
I want you to segregate yourself from ego and I know it all.
If you could remember, I said to you some times last year that you have talent but you have to be humble with the talent you have.
Nonetheless, I can tell you that Oga Rohr is not the best for the job but NFF can still bring the best out of him by getting someone to assist the coach.
Did you see how Tancofootball highlighted everything about coach Rohr?
You said you agree with him but your response show’s that you desergreed with him.
“should anything happen to this exciting, dynamic, painless, heart-attackless, free flowing, U23 team that we have now…..posterity will never forgive any of you”.
Too bad to say that.
However, The only thing that coach Rohr have that it is rare to see among the black coaches is, good attitude.
Technically, Oga Rohr is weak and he’s not better than our ex players but when you have good moral and lucky, you win it all.
Eguavon or Amunike should be the first assistant coach to Coach Rohr not Yobo.
I have never said Yobo merited the position NFF appointed him for.
Eguavon deserves the second chance if NFF refused to call Amunike on board.
Eguavon team was very good but unfortunately they couldn’t make it to the world cup in 2006 if I’m not mistaken.
That team he built was extremely good sound, but luck wasn’t on their side.
The team that has array of star players such as Obodo and good goalies with great tactics and technically sound?
For me, I will prefer coach Rohr to continue but he is not the best for the job.
We have other options to choose from in terms of our ex players.
If NFF can not get hold of Amunike, they should please get Eguavon to help coach Rohr.
Head coach Rohr
Assistant coach Eguavon or Amunike
Yobo to under study them all.
Having Akpayi as our first choice tells a lot about coach Rohr and coach Agu.
Mark my word, coach Rohr will keep having good players but to win trophies is the issue and we can’t continue like that. I know you hate to hear that but that is the bitter truth.
Is either NFF get someone to assistant coach or nothing. What is the point of playing good football as you said but nothing to show for it?
For me, none of our ex players had ever enjoyed themselves when it comes to coaching Super Eagles team.
Still, they delivered 3rd place medals. If coach Rohr can not go beyond where we are now, NFF should look for better options.
The options should be among our ex players not foreign coach.
NFF should give them free hand
to get the job done.
We are not Togo and co, no disrespect to them but we are Nigeria who have players to choose from. What is keeping coach Rohr waiting to build a complete team is what I don’t understand.
Both home and overseas, we have players. So, what are we talking about here?
If NFF know that they won’t renew Oga Rohr contract, they should tell him before his contract ends in few months.
They (NFF) need to respect their employees. I’m not saying this just because I want you to like me because of coach but I am saying this because, everyone deserves some class from each other.
Lastly,
Option one
Coach Rohr head coach
Coach Eguavon or Amunike assistant coach, plus Yobo
OR
Eguavon head coach
Amunike first assistant coach
Yobo to under study the two
While the goalkeeper trainers should be among these names:
No1, Peter Rufai
No2. Ike Shorumu
NO3. Enyeama
NO4 Ekeme
we have the best ex players to choose from while the foreign coach in the first place?
NFF are not respecting their own that is the main problem.
They have to change their thinking.
NFF has to options to choose from now.
Mr. Rohr is doing what he can but he need help and he is not the best.
If you are in doubt, ask NFF to give Eguavon, Amunike, Yobo and the rest of the names I have mentioned above a chance and full support, ah, I bet you, they can win Afcon and reaching
semifinals at next world.
Our ex players have taken a team to the world cup before.
Our ex players have won Afcon trophy
for Nigeria.
Our ex players have won us Silver medal at the Afcon before now
Our ex players have own Bronze medals in the same Afcon as a coach.
What make Oga Rohr the best ever is what I don’t know o.
Yes he qualified us for the world cup and Afcon a game left to be played but anything else? He also won the 3rd place?
I appreciate his efforts and Nigerians need the best candidates to represent them.
The earlier the better. We need to start preparing for the next world cup and Afcon.
Super Eagles have no hope as long as Amaju and his company stays in the office. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Sorry for my typing errors. Without coach Rohr, Super Eagles can make it to the next world cup and Afcon but my fear is NFF. They don’t care about us.
NFF should fear God and start treating their employees well.
Coach Rohr and other coaches deserves the best. God bless Nigeria!!!
Inrespective of rohrs achievement he is not good in reading games and he doesnt have strong and motivating artitude. He is always scared of making game changing subs. Though i noticed his improvement on that in naija last 3 games.i believe he listen to our complain sometimes. @drey are you saying nigeria shouldnt grow above westerhof achievement? or is egypt that won three straight titles a better football country than us? (Remember egypt where nowhere to be found before 2006.) Westerhof who failed to defeat ten man italy should remain our best coach in history? Becos we have failed to qualify for previous afcon are we now strangers in afcon turnament? As for ighalo do you think he was better striker than odemwingie, emenike, uche kalu, aghahuwa. ? Are u saying Nigeria should keep on celebrating yekini as his best ever? Egypt had hasan hasan. Then mido folowed by zidan and now ahmed salah. Cant u see its up up up. Why should we celebrate down down down? As for me i think critisism is good for players and coaches to improve in their games and carea. Ighalo was also critisized by same man u fans before his arrival and that gingered him to playing with coution and strong artitude wish led to his goals. There are players that canot give their best onless they are bin critisized. The only player that deliverd at the worldcup was the player that was highly critisized(ahmed musa) give too much trust they will flop.
“….Remember egypt where nowhere to be found before 2006…”
Who told you that lie…? Egypt was afcon winners as close to 2006 as 1998.That was their 4th title….So who told you they where nowhere to be found…? Egypt is not only a better footballing country than us, they are better all round in sports than us. They won 7 out of 13 All African games competitions and their clubs have won tons of CAF club competitions more than us. Dont even think Nigeria is mate with Egypt in football. Is your 3 afcons anywhere close to the 7 afcons they have won so far…? or is your league anywhere close to their 2nd division…? Is it all those Underage competitions, we use old men to win that is freaking you…?? Or because sufferhead is chasing all our league players to europe at the slightest opportunity you think you are a better footballing nation than Egypt…??? Go and use your home-based to win AFCON 3 times in a row and let us see now…?
The fact that we couldnt qualify for 2 AFCONs back to back shows how terrible we sunk, and to have risen from that depth to get a bronze is a huge step. If you say Ighalo is not a better striker than Osaze, Emenike, Kalu Uche and Aghahowa…oya bring your facts and figures na…? Bring your statistics. If you say those guys where better and yet they didnt score as much as Ighalo for the SE despite playing more matches, then i wonder what you mean by them being better than Ighalo.
And for you information….stop decieving yourself…..Mido never came close to Hosam hassan (infact no striker, including salah, has been able to surpass his records) and Zidan was never better or greater than Mido….so stop decieving yourself about your “…Cant u see its up up up….”. There is no up up anywhere.
Every era presents every player an opportunity to make history. Pele is still Brazil’s greatest till today, Maradona is still Argentina’s greatest, Platini is still France’s greatest, Beckenbauer and Gerd Muller are is still Germany’s greatest. If Yekini is still our greatest…so be it. We will continue to celebrate him until someone else steps into that space.
Nigeria should and would surely grow above Westerhoff’s achievement, but we cant miss 3 afcons in 7 years and expect that our next Worldcup after that will be a semifinal or gold winning feat. Even aeroplane dey waka first before e eventually fly. Belittle all Rohr had done in the last 3 years all you can, but even in your heart of hearts, you cant deny that this Eagles we have presently are a breath of fresh air and a tougher team to defeat than the ones of the last decade.
You are making some good points @Dr Drey which no one can deny, but your choice of words and the way you over praise him is the issue.
I have never seen you mentione the area he needs to work on ,every human being is work in progress (that means no one is perfect as you said above, which I’m happy to hear and thus the reason I’m writing again about this issue)so when one mention what he don’t like about Rohr and the team, to you the person becomes an enemy which is not good.
it’s true Rohr have done well, his stats proved that which i can’t deny but we are not the NFF like i said above if they don’t want him again I wouldn’t mind us going for a better, which i know you can’t say without him we can get a good coach again.
Why dwell on a man’s weaknesses when his strengths more than make-up for his shortcomings. Even if his shortcomings are brighter than the sun, why concoct untruths or turn logic on its head just pull him down and discredit what he has done so far. The man is old and experienced enough to observe his strengths and weaknesses, together with his team of assistants….which we all have seen a turn-around of late. So why amplify and shout it out loud while speaking in low tones about what he’s doing well which is giving us results…? Others who didn’t have weaknesses what was their output.
You are right in some of ur response and very wrong in many others. Salah is a better player than hossam hassan. Salah have 41 goals in 69 while hassan scored 69 in 169 games. Salah scores 70 goals already for liverpool won champions league. Scores in worldcup. As for nigeria and egypt i dont blame you i now see the reason why you are easily satisfied with our recent achievement becos u actualy thought egypt was a better football nation than us. Lets analyse that to you. Egypt won four afcon without nigeria participation. Nigeria has defeated egypt head to head. We won them more than they won us so how are they better. For your information nigeria has won every african team more than they have biten us ( i am not sure of ghana i will ceck) nigeria has been to 6 worldcup and egypt should be two. As for nations cup Nigeria is 15 times out of 18 appearance last 3, 8 times last 2 and three times champions. If not abachas stupidity nigeria should have won 1998 and 1996 edition but he didnt allow us to go we would have been 5 times champions. Nigeria has won the olimpics gold silva and bronze.5 under 17 world cup and 2 times under 20 finalist. Nigeria girls have 8 female afcon titles. 4 times world cup participant. 2 under 20 wcup finalist@ Dr drey you dont only fall my hand infact you fall naija hand by placing egypt ahead of nigeria in football even fifa nor go do that mistake. My friend go and refresh your thinking about this nation if our tilents where playing home imagin how many caf championsleague will be in our desk by now. Even as egypt clubs are wining more titles like u claim they have foreign players including nigerians in their league if not wat have they achieved in the newly found chan turnament which we already have silver and bronze in three appearance. Egypt league is better bcos egypt is 2nd world country and naija is 3rd ( infact 100 world country if we ceck am well). As for ighalo vs those players i listed i think you are a joker to even dare to compare them i will not go into details on that maybe you are decieved by 6 goals against lybia or borundi sychelis capeverde. For your information ighalo didnt score against any european or southamerica oponent. infact he scored only africa teams with the eagles. He got few had
Classic good goals (cameroun) and the rest goals are mostly tap in and penalty. Aghahuwa emenike uche kalu and odewingie can be compared to ighalo only in your dream world. If you want to go futher on these argument just post ighalo best and let me post out one odewingie bests and let this forum vote. Why didnt u place messi ahead of maradona bcos of goals ratio. Why not place klose ahead of beckanbauer bcos of his goals record and here you want to put ighalo ahead of odemwingie or emenike nor aghawonder. guys that have worldcup goals. Infact dr drey it is either you drink ogogoro for daring to compare them. Neverthe less you made some points in regards to gernot rohr achievments i hope he take us to the promise land.
Hehehehehe…after all this your long turanchi…the bottom line is that Egypt has 7 afcons and we have 3 (if you like win 100 head-to-head matches against Egypt), while Ighalo is Nigeria’s 4th all time top scorer ahead of all those other strikers. That’s all that matters. That’s what historians want to see, and that is what generations unborn will make reference to….THE RECORD BOOKS.
Egypt has won the All african games 7 solid times, Nigeria managed to rig itself to first place 1ce when we hosted in 2003. Egyptian clubs have won CAF club competitions a whooping 37 times, Nigeria has won just 9 times. Stop deceiving yourself, Acc. Wikipedia Egypt is listed as a ‘developing country’, A Third World Country like Nigeria. Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa but our league cant compare to their 2nd division….let all your age-cheat won under age tournaments be deceiving you….LMAO nobody gives a hoot about them. Nobody cares if you have won 1 million U-tournaments, its what you have won at senior level that counts…. Nigeria has won more U17 tournaments than Brazil, but Brazil is still more respected in football than us.
Egypt purposely decided not to be participating in CHAN tournaments….they said it wasn’t for them…its useless to them. They have never participated in any CHAN tournament. They dont evn play in the qualifiers sef. Their largely home-based team has won the main afcon 3 years in a row, what do they need CHAN for. If they should participate in CHAN, Nigeria wouldnt even smell your silver and bronze. Lolz
When the weed you are smoking has simmered down, you can carry eraser and go and clean the record books. LMAO. Go and clean all Ighalo’s tap-ins and penalties because they are not goals, remember to clean our alltime record goalscorers Yekini, Odegbami and Aiyegbeni’s tap-in and penalty goals too (including our historic first world cup goal in 1994), Rank emenike and odemwingie ahead of them…Lolz. Go and clean Messi and CR7’s tap-ins and penalties too from the record books because they are not goals. LMAO. Ighalo played in the same EPL like those you ranked higher than him, go and check their stats too. LMAO
If you say you are richer than me and my net-worth is higher than yours…Lolz all i can say to you is congrats and continue to live in your illusion. If you claim you are smarter and more brilliant than me, yet our report cards show me smashing you in tests and examinations all through college and varsity, then all I can say to you is that you keep living in our fools paradise.
#Facts and records don’t lie.
Honestly, Dr drey you too good. But please learn to argue peaceably. It’s amazing how a well thought-out argument can change another person’s perspective or even stance. Same goes for omo9ja, your subtle shades will do no one no good. You guys are the bomb. Oga collins, I sight you too. Clever super eagles fans. Let’s do this till 2050

@ Dr Drey
You have indeed made some valid points and have backed it up as always with facts and records. As such no one can deny that . Even if one’s emotion goes against facts; it doesn’t stop the facts from being what it is.plain, simple truth.
But I have to respectfully disagree with the notion that Nigeria is not on the same level with Egypt in terms of geopolitics. Yes. EGYPT is quite truly labelled a developing country, same as Nigeria.
In the aspect of geopolitics and world economics we are rightfully placed in the same bracket; the middle income economy/developing country;totally not a third world country in the sense.
Nigeria and Egypt share similar trends in the negative; totally under developed for the level they should be.
Have counter terrorism issues.
High rate of brain drain.
Fragile Political stability.
High level of dependence on foreign remittance.
High rate of corruption as well.
An economy totally almost owned solely by a family;Dangote in Nigeria; Oramco in Egypt.
That said,I wouldn’t be too quick to say Eygpt is “ahead” in the geopolitical sense.
Yes.Nigeria problems are well documented.
But it shouldn’t take away the fact that we are labelled a regional power in the African continent.
We hold the dice in Africa.
Egypt is more of a regional power in the middle east and dont have such magnitude in terms of soft power in the African continent.
Even in the middle East, they are being challenged by the UAE,Saudis and Iranians.
Nigeria is also an emerging power in terms of world politics.
20th in terms of economy in the world and a strong purchasing power in terms of parity.
Higher than any African state, with Egypt conclusive.
And as you mentioned, we have the economy and the population, human capital to even go ahead if the right policies are set straight.
I understand where you are leading with your points and could have hold my own;since your points is validly stated;in termed of Egypt being a better sporting nation than Nigeria.
But I think it is necessary I put this out there so most of us would understand the true nature of things and dont get lost to the propaganda that Nigeria is such a failed state that Egypt is far ahead.
That is further from the truth.
Yes.we got a lot of problems in our hands.
But the facts states we are in charge in Africa in terms of geopolitics, underbelly soft power and economical grandeur. Even if it not ahead, atleast at par with Egypt and South Africa.
On the other hand, love reading from you.
Just my take..
We can criticise Rohr all we want. The fact remains that he has delivered excellently. We were drowning as a team, he saved us to the point that we’ve gone from not qualifying for major tournaments to he doesn’t make timely changes but still qualifies with games to spare. You guys must find reasons to get rid of him.
