Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr hopes Victor Osimhen will be fit for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, reports Completesports.com.
Osimhen sustained an injury after colliding with Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar in a Serie A clash on November 21.
Napoli announced three days later that the forward will be sidelined for three months after he underwent an operation.

The 22-year-old however resumed training on Wednesday raising hope he will be available for the AFCON finals.
“He resumed training yesterday (Wednesday),”Rohr told AFP, as per Eurosport.
“It’s going to be the race, he has to do bodybuilding, it was a facial injury. ”
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the player passed new exams on Tuesday and got the green light to resume athletic work.
The next steps are now the realization of a carbon mask to protect the fractured area which will allow him to resume training with physical contact, perhaps in the next few weeks.

is it not Oga Rohr that they said they will soon sack talking about Nation cup? is oga Rohr talking super eagles to Nation cup?
honestly i am confuse
NFA are really disorganise set of peoples
Let’s just say noise aside, Rohr has always been the best for Nigeria. Good luck the Super Eagles.
After the game against Benin republic I don’t no wat happened to the eagles . Though Benin scored 1st but they must have regretted doing so because the eagles dazed Dem throughout the game and the score would have been up to 4 . But after Benin maybe someone or sometwo players are not suppose to be in the team and there was a bad performance in the other games with serria Leone comein to score 4 goals back and CaR coming to hit Dem hard before cape men. So Nigeria super eagles now need a rematch to win back fans . Wen wil dey face Madagascar again . Go and look at the game against Madagascar . . U see that some guys are not suppose to be in the team. Again.
DON’T OVER RELY ON OSIMHEN ALONE BECAUSE THE WHOLE AFRICA PLAYERS HAVE KNOW TRY TO BUILD CONFIDENT IN OTHER PLAYERS
Well said Brodaman. We should not rely on Osimhen only lefy to me he should be left out of Afcon to fully recover and help Napoli win the scudetto. Nigeria will be fine without Osimhen. No need to rush him back.
Idiot, are you even a Nigerian??? get kicked out fool, this is a Nigerian section. Osimhen on the bench alone, not even on the field of play is enuf fear to S.Eagles opponents.
You a fool for coming out & stating accused people here.
Thought. We need Osimhen if possible & if not we roll.
Typing shit. Shalanga breed.
I love what I’m seeing of Calvin Bassey in Rangers Match against Lyon. Very intelligent defending from Central back. He has so far pocketed Ekambi. He’s has more than two one on one duels with the Cameroonian. Can we just groom this guy to take over from Ekong?

… and you had to post your nonsense twice. Nigeria, we hail thee!
It has suddenly become stupid that one watches a match where a fellow Nigerian is doing so well in an unfamiliar position and calls the attention of others to it. What exactly is nonsensical in that post?
Guess you’ve got a medal for your feeble insult
Interesting! Another good news for Nigerians. With a fit Victor Osimhen joining the fray, our Coach, Coach Gernot Rohr now has many options at his disposal and this is translating to a successful execution of Afcon in our favor. God bless, our homeland, Nigeria.
Osimhen proved it in his club side. In one of the post I told the platform that Rossi said it all, it’s just like saying it will be difficult for the Super Eagles of Nigeria to win Afcon without Osimhen.
Worth celebrating, like nothing to add.
Guys from a reliable source (insider) I was told that Gernot Rohr really contributed massively by giving Napoli some contact of some very good medics in Germany who had to fly down to Italy to join in treating Osimehn and ensure his quick recovery. Wow…this man is so nice.He goes beyond a coach. He is a manager and a father to our boys…
Gee, how we for comment nah? Some of them don’t know reading is allowed, they can’t kno. Seeing a game rit nah, cheers!
That’s the job of an international coach. But many are clueless and don’t know this things!
@CharSay Lol….
Since it is a ++, it is a good news from all ramifications. Coach Rohr should look at Aina, Tyrone, Anwamzien, Collins of paderborn and see how they can assist the flanks, running from defence to the 18yd.
@Alphonso Gbefumu, being interesting makes it sumptuous, what an aroma? God’s willing Victor will be playing to the joy of many in Cameroon. He lights from the center field to the 18 yard box was what a Senegalese friend said recently.
Cheers brotherly
I’m trying to search for the name of the guy, he said Rohr is taking SE of Nigeria to AFCON despite the up and down noise as at then, then some pple were like awe, saying it’s not going to be possible, sack roar was a slogan. They call Sunny Darey names, Ministry is coooropt, Amoju Pikin, they say sack nff but this is still csn forum where the forumites come to push their case and possibly to influence decisions as adults o. Where are we? I have the confidence to tell everyone present that Osimhen, a Nigerian from Edo State is the best to happen to our striking department.
Pls if you remember the name of that guy, let me know tru reply.
@goerge I knew they won’t him
It’s like Osidion is his name, he also said Ighalo and Osimhen would be paired to play in the same match, even when Ighalo said he could play with bare skin. Everything is still like yesterday nah. Sincerely, I am glad Osimhen is recovery fast but what is NFF saying about preparations?
@Mike Ogene, his name is Oseodion Inegbenebor. That was even before Odion Ighalo accepted the offer to come out of retirement.
Nice1 @S. S . Bola Matthew, with the rumoured inclusion of Victor Moses and the lads you proposed here, our flanks will come alive again. I remember the days of Mobile Okparaku, Cele Babayaro, Amunike and Elahor coming from the center to assisting the flanks. Attention should also be concentrated in the midfield to make Osimhen and co job easier.
Rhor must put Calvin Bassey as a subistitute of Troost Ekong and Awziem sub. of Balogun on center back; on backs: Ola Aina as right back with Tyronne Ebuehi as sub.; on left back: Jamilu Collins with Zaidu Sanusi as sub.;on defensive midfield: Wilfred Ndidi with Okechukwu Azubiuki as tow midfielders,Inocent Bonke and Etebo as sub.;Alex Iwobi and Ovie Ejaria and James Igbikeme one of them can be a playmaker; Victor Moses is a left winger with Dennis Bonevonture and Ahmed Musa with Simon Moses as sub.; on right wing: Samuel Chukwueze with Akinkunmi Amoo as sub.; Odion Ighalo,Victor Osimhen,Sadiq Umar, Cyriel Dessers all are excellent and perfect forwards for Super Eagles. If Rhor put thoes players in a suitable functions and places with drastic and ferious and ferocious defensive style center back and midfield with pressing playing with also a good reading on the rival, drastic control on the rival’s key players, keeping the ball on along time, exploit set-pieces of the rival in order to score easy goals, give drastic instructions to defensive midfielders and backs to play sliding tackling on the ball to cut the it; give also drastic instruction for them(DM and CB and side backs) they must not to committ set-pieces and stupid lapses on thier lines; put a proper concentration on thier mines in training sessions in order to remember this thought on thier matches. If Oga Rhor applays these philosophies on the acual ground on SE matches and put it on players’ mines, I think he will win then lift this cup in Cameroon.
@Hassan Tia welldone the great tactical coach. Think it’s easy to say with mouth and we never heard your exploit as a football coach. Azuibike Okechukwu, Akinkunmi Amoo even Etebo that is currently injured is there that God some of you are not a coach otherwise it would have been the greatest calamity ever.
*** Having Osimhen in the Eagles is what we are all praying for but using Dessers and Dennis as Oga Rohr weapons in Cameroon is my concern.
*** Since CAF has increased the Afcon list to 25 or so, Osimhen should be included. He can play for 10 to 20 minutes.
*** Now, Dessers stand a chance to lead the attack. This is where I disagree with Oga Rohr and Amaju.
*** What Ighalo got to do with Super Eagles again?
*** With what I saw against Cape Verde, Ighalo has no pace, strength and stamina anymore to be in that team.
*** Off the pitch yes. He can do it. The experience is there but on the pitch, can he be the main striker again?
*** When we are talking about experience, since we have Musa in the team, Balogun also there to guide the young ones then Oga Rohr should give the young strikers the opportunity to be in that squad. Awoniyi definitely deserves to be among the strikers.
*** I can’t say much about this now. The list will be out soon, let’s wait and see. I wish Osimhen a quick recovery. God bless Nigeria!!!
Amoo and Ejeku should form the backbone of the team. Ejeku is the guy who play his game in Russia.
