Cameroon legend Roger Milla and the Indomitable Lions’ coach – Dutchman, Clarence Seedorf, are not impressed by the team’s showing in their AFCON 2019 Group F, especially their last match against Benin Republic which ended goalless, they want to see the Lions at their best against the Super Eagles in a Round of 16 match on Saturday, Completesports.com reports.
The Indomitable Lions, just like the Super Eagles, have been goal shy at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. They also scored only two goals in their three Group F games.
Clarence Seedorf’s men drew goalless with Ghana, beat Guinea-Bissau 2-0, and recorded another barren draw with Benin Republic. They finished second in the Group on four points behind Ghana.
Though the Lions are yet to concede any goal in Egypt, Milla, a star of three FIFA World Cups and two-time Africa Cup of Nations winner, is unhappy that they couldn’t attack well to create a number of scoring chances.
“It was a very disappointing match.
We played against a team like Benin and we cannot attack and try to score, it’s very disappointing. We cannot score goals if we are not in the opponents’ penalty area, ” Milla, also a two-time African Footballer of the year, told pdefoot.com.
The Netherlands legend, Seedorf also appraises his team’s progress so far at AFCON 2019 and demands improvement going forward.
“We have to improve in several details, especially in attack, we have to be smarter to create more opportunities, we have not conceded a goal yet, there are positive things for the future,” Seedorf told France Football after Cameroon drew goalless with Benin.
“I’m very happy because we qualified, but we were disappointed because we wanted to win the match, we completely controlled this match.”
Asked about their Round of 16 match against Nigeria, Seedorf said tartly: “We are not thinking about that because we just played this match.”
The winner between Nigeria and Cameroon on Saturday will face the winner of Egypt vs South Africa in the quarterfinals on July 10.

Still remember how this guy Roger Milla contributed to the daylight robbery of Nigeria in the 1988 Afcon final! The first blow was the stranger than fiction cancellation of Nwosu’s headed goal. Then up stepped Milla. His theatrical dive into our box resulted in the award of one of the most questionable penalties you will ever see. That was a dive that South Americans would have been proud of. I hear they are even inviting him over there now to teach young South American kids how to dive in the box….(LOL, that was intended to be a joke).
The guy na African soccer legend sha. But to me, his dishonesty in the 1988 final remains a big blemish in an otherwise distinguished career.
The world remembers winners, nota bunch of losers, Nigeria is a bunch if crying babies, why havnt you won wolrd cup if you are really that good? why haven’t you even reached quarter-finals of world cup before? why are you only 3 time AFCON champion? Nigerians are very pompous for nothing people, you will never win 2019 AFCON, your journey ends this Saturday!!!!! Mark my words this Saturday Nigeria are bowing out of AFCON, you havnt been impressive at this AFCON
what if they didnt loose on saturday?will u commit suicide?
I will definitely come for after the match
Yes we have not been impressive unfortunately. But why this venom? Why are you this angry against Nigeria. If you must know your team is as useless as ours. Yes I fancy our chances against your Cameroon. You are no longer the Cameroon of Roger Mila. This Cameroonian team is as terrible as our Super Eagles. Stop being pompous for nothing. Same thing you accused Nigeria.
Even the Cameroon of Roger Miller had to cheat to win us in 1988!!!
Hahahahaha, Cameroon is the weakest team among the remaining 16, Mister. Not even Benin or South Africa. Who fears Cameroon these days? Nigeria, cry babies? Lol, you mean like your ladies displayed for the whole world to see in France last month? Nigeria lost more gracefully and with dignity and went home quietly. Why do your football teams have to add power and aggression to everything, even when clearly losing? Little or no finesse! That’s one thing we both should agree why the SE is a more loved and fancied brand globally.
This was to you @master.
@Pompei .. I concur… 100%
Cam all fall
Yes it’s true Nigeria have not been impressive in this years afcon but Cameroon haven’t done better either.. So leave talk for action on the pitch of play.
