Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly ready to raid his former club Celtic to sign midfielder Callum McGregor. Rodgers is yet to make his first signing since leaving Celtic to take over at King Power Stadium in February, but it appears he is keen to link up with Scotland international McGregor, who spent two-and-a-half years playing under the 46-year-old at Parkhead.

McGregor, who turned 26 earlier this month, has spent his entire playing career to date with Celtic, bar a loan move to Notts County in 2013, and he has gone on to make 227 first-team appearances for the Scottish champions, scoring 36 goals.
It is not yet clear at this stage how receptive McGregor would be to Leicester’s interest, but it does appear the Foxes are ready to launch an initial bid of £17.5million. Celtic are certainly in no rush to sell McGregor, who featured 59 times across all competitions for the club last season, as he signed a new contract in December that still has another four years left to run.
