Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has labelled Kelechi Iheanacho an ”important player” ahead of his side’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday night, reports Completesports.com.
The 24-year-old has struggled to secure regular playing berth at the club since his arrival from Manchester City in 2017.
The arrival of Ayoze Perez from Newcastle United last season has further pushed him behind in the pecking order.

Iheanacho proved his class with a sublime goal in Leicester’s 1-1 away draw against Burnley on Wednesday .
“He (Iheanacho) is very important. The technique in that goal last night was outstanding,” Rodgers told reporters.
”He works so hard and has scored very important goals for us, particularly of late.”
The forward has scored two goals in 14 league appearances for the Foxes this season.

Mr Rodgers, play Iheanacho and Vardy together. The two complement each other well. Iheanacho will find the pacy Vardy with passes, and he will exploit the space created with Vardy’s intelligent movement. The two should be starting games together.
