Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho may have produced “fabulous technique” for his goal but it was not enough to keep him on the pitch for 90 minutes in the 1-1 away draw against Burnley on Wednesday night.
The Nigeria international was substituted in the second half of the Premier League clash at Turf Moor as manager Brendan Rodgers tweaked his side’s tactics.
With Iheanacho volleying a sublime equaliser, and generally looking more of a threat than Jamie Vardy, it was perhaps a surprise that the Nigerian was withdrawn when Rodgers switched to 4-3-3.

Rodgers said he felt that Vardy would have taken a chance had it fallen to him, but although the number nine was more involved later in the game, there was no gilt-edged opportunity for him to try to convert.
“It was just tactical. At the beginning of the second half, we were starting to get exposed on the sides, and for that we needed to make the change to 4-3-3,”Rodgers explained after the game.
“Even though Jamie didn’t do much tonight, you would still back him to score if an opportunity came his way.”

I hear! We all know iheanacho plays better with a top striker infront of him. The coach has the final say on the tactics of the team but the report says iheanacho was more of goal threat
On the night than vardy. All the same I believe iheanacho has shown good character at Leicester. Alot of the pundits and fans have openly declared that he cant play better than vardy. That alone can demoralize any player. But he has still remained resolute, churning out good performances whenever he is called on. And also scoring goals from time to time. Maybe he needs to move to another club where his input will be better appreciated. As for mr Rodgers, If you keep qualifying Leicester for the Europa league, when your in a good position to qualify for the champions league then maybe you should allow another coach step in, lets see if he can take Leicester to the next level.
That was what cost them the champions league spot last season benching Iheanacho for players like Gray last season limiting him to just a square member. I am happy that even the few times he played the boy last year and this year he has had more goals per minute ratio than any player in epl. I was happy yesterday that he has started being more selfish as a striker than always passing to other while they take credit for the goals. His shooting rate yesterday was quite encouraging
Ihenacho is a special talent. I can remember when kanu was having this type of problem at arsenal. Kanu was always performing whenever he was called upon. Special talents are like that.
It’s normal for the coach to have special interest in vardy. He is one of the best in the epl. But I will not accept benching nacho for any other players in that team.
Kelechi should tactically go to another team.
