Brendan Rodgers has attempted to keep speculation over Manchester United’s interest in Harry Maguire off the back pages. Rumours are rife in the tabloid media that the Red Devils are about to renew their interest in the Foxes’ England international centre-back after trying to lure him to Old Trafford after the World Cup last summer.

But new Leicester boss Rodgers did not want to fuel the speculation by making any comment about it when quizzed on the future of Maguire at his Thursday afternoon press conference. “There’s nothing to add on that,” Rodgers said.
“Harry is very much a Leicester City player, a fantastic player who signed a new contract last year. There is nothing to add to that.” The 26-year-old expressed his gratitude to Leicester City when he signed a new five-year contract with the club last September and it was later revealed by Sky Sports that the deal did not include a buy-out clause.
“The club will always do its best,” added Rodgers. “You can never say the player will definitely be here. But the club will do its very best. “All the players here enjoy playing for Leicester City, I’m quite relaxed on the situation with all the players.”
