Rivers United have appointed Finidi George as their new head coach, reports Completsports.com.
According to reports, Finidi will be unveiled by the former Nigeria Premier Football League champions in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
Rivers United sacked long-serving tactician Stanley Eguma towards the end of last season.
Former Lobi Stars head coach Evans Ogenyi led the team for the remainder of the campaign.
Finidi spent three years at Enyimba before before he was appointed Super Eagles head coach in May.
He led Enyimba to win the NPFL title in the 2022/23 season.
The former Ajax winger spent around a month in charge of the Super Eagles before his resignation following the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF’s) decision to appoint a foreign technical adviser to boss him.
Rivers United finished in disappointing eighth position in the NPFL last term.
