Rivers Hoopers’American star Will Perry has been included in the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL) Team of the Season.
The best five players of the just concluded club tournament was announced on BAL’s X handle on Wednesday.
Perry was named alongside Samkelo Cele (Cape Town Tigers l), Marcus Crawford (US Monastir), Aliou Diarra (FUS Rabat) and Lual Lual Acuil (Al Ahly).
The 29-year-old point guard played a key role as Rivers Hoopers finished third at the 2024 BAL, making them the first-ever Nigerian team to achieve the feat.
Angola’s Petro de Luanda emerged champions after defeating Libya’s Al Ahly in the final.
Perry is the joint record holder for most points in a single BAL game and was the recipient of the BAL Sportsmanship Award in 2023.
After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft, Perry began his professional career with CB Zamora of the Spanish LEB Plata.
He has played several years of professional basketball in Europe and Africa.
On February 24, 2024, Rivers Hoopers announced they had signed Perry for the 2024 BAL season.
