Patrick Mörk, the former agent of Paul Onuachu rejected a move worth €18m for his client to a Bundesliga club during the summer transfer window, Completesports.com exclusively reports.
Onuachu was Goal King of the Jupiler Pro League and netted 35 goals in all competitions during the 2020/21 season. Despite his heroics, he did not cash in on a big move away from Belgium.
And according to Complete Sports’ findings, it was not as if transfer offers never came the way of Onuachu but some lucrative bids were turned down by the attacker’s former agent, Monk.

A former Nigerian youth international who is now a football intermediary/agent, Ifeanyi Elegbua popularly known as ‘Sabiboy’ told CS that he indeed had an offer for Onuachu from Germany.
“I had a really lucrative offer worth €18m for Paul Onuachu which his former agent, Patrick Mörk rejected out-rightly. It was actually from a club-side playing in the German Bundesliga.
“The deal would have seen Onuachu earn a salary of €2.5m-a-year but I wouldn’t just know why Mörk did not allow the transfer to see the light of day,” Elegbua told CS during a recent chat.
Onuachu has actually not done badly so far during the 2021/22 season with the Nigerian striker having scored eleven goals in 17 appearances across all competitions for his club-side, Genk.

I pray he gets a better deal. Onuachu deserves a better deal than what he is getting at the moment. A fantastic striker with an eye to score goals. Coach Van Brom’s 4-3-2-1 formation is Onuachu major undoing. With that formation, He finds himself surrounded by 4 to 5 defenders at a time, strategically disadvantage to give inputs and that is why he is mostly running to the MDF to hustle for game. Infact, no striker is likely to do well with such formation.
@Jonathan Osamudiamhen… I want to believe with your candid opinion above you know your football. No sooner than the 4-2-3-1 began to help teams with some level of defensive solidity than many coaches jumped at it that the most balanced football formation has arrived… soon they discovered it makes their team toothless in attack, it is still very popular in France but that system in all honesty is a nightmare for attacking arrowheads… no matter how good a lone striker is upfront… if he is against a central defence with solid understanding of his role and the game… he will not even connect a single shot to goal for over 90mins… it makes a team’s attack a very laborous and static one! Every attacker can do better playing off some other guy as a helpmate…
You are right there. Don’t know if you saw today’s match against Zulte Waregem. What the coach did was to switch to 5-3-3 formation which made Onuachu and his mates to better express themselves. Onuachu even had a goal in the 47th minutes.
Paul would have gone for it…..Genk and his agent are greedy sets of people…..Paul is already 27 and no team will pay more than 20 million pounds on him knowing fully well that he might not have a resell value….. Please if the said club comes back again they should allow him go and try himself in a top5 league…..SE needs more of our players there.
Listen man, Onuachu cant compete in Europe. For the past time while he was in Genk he didn’t really do anything or scored enough goals in top competitions. He may do well in the Belgian league, but he will get shut down during European competitions. Happened in the champions league and now europa league, dude couldn’t score against west ham, some of them were starting from the bench. If he goes to atletico madrid while under Simione, he will do even worse. Joao Felix cant even score under him, he will just have to defend.
Onuachu is already competing. The formation has always been the problem. With coach Van Brom new formation of 5-3-3 played in the match against Zulte Waregem, Onuachu was able to score a goal.
