Liverpool are closing in on the capture of Fulham’s Harvey Elliott, who watched the Reds’ 6-0 win over Tranmere on Thursday. The 16-year-old England youth international was spotted in the stands at Prenton Park as he closes in on a dream move to Anfield.

Elliott became the youngest player in Premier League history last May when he came on as a substitute against Wolves just 30 days after his 16th birthday. Football Association rules prevent him from signing professional terms until his 17th birthday next year, but he is free to pen a youth contract with Liverpool after his deal with Fulham expired.
Fulham will receive a significant compensation package for the player, but the move is a major coup of Jurgen Klopp’s side, who fought off rival interest from Arsenal and Manchester City. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain were also linked with Elliott, whose support of the Reds seems to have been a key factor in his decision to choose Anfield.
