Former Real Madrid sporting director Pedja Mijatovic has warned that Los Blancos will struggle this season without Karim Benzema.
He made this known on the backdrop of the team’s 3-1 loss to Atletico Madrid in Sunday’s La Liga.
Recall that Benzema joined Al-Ittihad this summer.
However, in an interview with Cadena SER, Mijatovic insisted that the team will suffered this season withouthim.
He told : “There is no player in the squad who can come close to Benzema’s numbers.

“When you don’t get these numbers, you have problems. In important games, like today, we have suffered. It may be a year of transition. In January you can’t sign a great player, but I think that in the summer Real Madrid will make a great project with the new stadium.
“We have to endure this season; I am not as optimistic as in previous years.”

Generally known for both his finishing and playmaking, Benzema is regarded as one of the best strikers of all time. He is a creative, skillful, quick, agile, and prolific forward, who is good in the air and capable of playing off the shoulders of the last defender, and has been described as an “immensely talented striker” who is “strong and powerful” and “a potent finisher from inside the box” with either foot, as well as his head, despite being naturally right footed.
He is considered to be one of the best strikers of his generation, with his Real Madrid manager Ancelotti describing him “the best striker in the world” in 2021.
