Real Madrid are reportedly still keen on a summer move for Lille striker Victor Osimhen.
Zinedine Zidane has been linked with a potential bid for a new attacker ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, with rumoured doubts over the futures of Luka Jovic and Gareth Bale.
Los Blancos were linked with the Nigerian international, prior to Jovic’s arrival last summer, but opted against a move for the 23-year old.

However, according to reports from UK newspaper the Daily Star , they are now set to rival Premier League side Manchester United with a big money offer, after he netted 13 league goals so far this season.
The report states that Lille currently value Osimhen in the region of €80M, however neither side is likely to pay that much for the former VfL Wolfsburg man.
Real are only likely to pay around €40M, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could go higher, if they generate funds from player sales in the coming months.

Very good for super Vic may God continue to straighten u my guy,
better stay where you dey. You go to a club whereby you never taste football again, don’t for if not for Belguim, you think you be relevant, remember all that, remember Antoine Griezmamn, how is he doing now when he left Atletico, stay there in Lille master your trade and move when you and your agent think its time.
I agree with you. There are two options here:
– play, learn, grow, become a high-priced hotcake
– collect money now, sit on the bench, go nowhere
But you have the final say, brother.
Presh, it is a funny one. It’s all speculation at this stage however, if we do eventually get to the stage where representatives from Real Madrid approach Lille and representatives of Osimhen with a €40 million offer for Osimhen, what should they do?
The headline of ‘Osimhen Rejects a 40 Million Euros Move To Real Madrid’ will be greeted with mixed reactions all over the global football community.
It is a dicey one.
For one, Osimhen is currently assured of regular playing time where he is. This will help hone his skills as a striker and will invariably contribute to his continued invitations to the national team and overall development.
Osimhen is currently independently valued at €30 million. Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to top that by €10 million which will make him overtake the likes of Alex Iwobi as one of Nigeria’s highest earners in Europe.
Based on what he has shown in Belgium and France, there is nothing to suggest that Osimhen does not have what it takes to thrive in a mammoth club like Real Madrid.
However, Super Eagles fans are always keen to point me in the direction of Serbian star striker Luka Jovic. The 22 year old is seen as world class striker
by many pundits.
After having 2 bumper seasons with Eintracht Frankfurt where he scored 25 goals in 54 matches (1 goal per 2 games) he moved to Real Madrid in 2019 where he has struggled for game time.
Though he has manage 15 games (and 2 goals) out of a possible 27, 8 of them were less than 10 minutes cameos.
And he is regarded as a supremely talented centre forward.
That is a fate most Super Eagles fans would want Osimhen to socially and professionally distant himself from like a virus.
The Under 17 World Cup winner has shown capacity for far too much only to languish in the benches of Real Madrid which would undoubtedly harm his Super Eagles career moreso as quality options are being unearth by the day.
However, nobody can say for certain that Osimhen will suffer the same fate as Luka Jovic. He might just take to Spanish football like duck to water so much so that he establishes himself as the first choice striker.
But, that is unlikely.
Real Madrid still has many talents waiting to be given the opportunity to showcase their skills. The best Osimhen can wish for is to be part of a rotation of striking options. And even that is not guaranteed owing to the cut-throat nature of the competition for places at the Bernabau.
Whatever happens, Osimhen is still showing all the hallmarks of going on to be a high quality centre forward in the world game.
The choices he makes will either speed up or slow down the inevitable. If he is not averse to taking risks, then Osimhen should take the offer to go to Real Madrid and then push himself to prove those who doubted the wisdom behind the move wrong.
I can only concur with @Deo. If this offer is genuine, Osimhen should make the move.
I totally wonder why we always worry about ours making that big move but are always quick to praise the move of others in the same situation. I just dont get it.
Is it that we underestimate our own or we just don’t trust in our ability?
I could understand the wisdom in staying back and getting regular playing but if you dont take that chance how would you know?
Who says Osimhen cant get regular playing time in Real Madrid, he doesn’t know if he doesn’t try!
It is totally ilogical to compare Jovic situation and Osimhen, they are two different players entirely and two different human beings in terms of style and mentality. I dare say,the only thing they have in common is that they are both strikers.
So if Jovic failed in Real, doesn’t mean Osimhen would fail too.
Yes.Benzema is always the first choice but Benzema is a shadow of himself and his time is waning;though still proficient,he isn’t as proficient as seasons past,so Real Madrid is actually planning to fill in that gap. Jovic failed to take his chance and this is were Osimhen comes in.
Real Madrid’s attack isn’t as lethal as it is used to be and they rightly want to fix it;as it stands right now in world football, there aren’t many good forward out there that can say they are better than Osimhen. So why not Osimhen in Real Madrid?!
The difference between a class player and other players is ambition and drive. Class players are not scared to take the leap when the chance comes calling cause they are sure of their ability. Osimhen is pure class and he can only prove it beyond any doubt by taking such chances been offered by Real.
If Players like Haaland, Rashford etc.can lead the line in big clubs like Dortmund and Manchester United, why can’t Osimhen take the faith and his quality even higher.
Remember how much discouragement was put out when Man United came for Ighalo; a lot of negative write ups came in from Nigerian fans doubting his ability to deliver. Now who is shining?
I believe in Osimhen’s quality so much so that I know he can hold his own anywhere in the world, he is hitting his peak, he just needs the grand stage to pacify it.
Well, this are just assumptions since it is still a rumour if Real Madrid really wants him or not.
Hopefully, this rumour comes true.
Well said Mr deo and Mr Hush!
If the news becomes reality, osihme should make the move because Eagles fear no foe!
Raheem Sterling went to man city around the age of 20 and people said worse things. Fast forward to today, Sterling is a household name at city. If we keep getting afraid of failure we will never achieve anything. Go Osimen. You are a Nigerian. The Naija spirit fears no foe. You will conquer all of them Insha Allah.
I totally agree with every move if is worth it , it is now or never. Please do not waste the opportunity, as many others have said
As Naija boy he should go to where he finds himself and do what he knows best. Go Victor. No fear!!!
