Real Madrid have announced that they have come to terms with Toni Kroos as regards contract extension at the club.
Although Kroos’ contract expires at the end of the month, the 33-year-old will continue at the Santiago Bernabeu for at least another year.
Kroos acknowledged that he was considering retiring at the end of this season. But it had been apparent in recent months that he would stay with the team.
Kroos even made light of the fact that he was delaying his vacation until the agreement was finalized before the end of the 2022/2023 campaign.

On Wednesday morning, June 21, Real Madrid made the announcement and will enjoy having Kroos play at the Bernabeu for yet another season.
Los Blancos wrote on their official website, Realmadrid.com: “Real Madrid C. F. and Toni Kroos have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which will see him contracted to the club until 30 June 2024.
“Toni Kroos joined Real Madrid in 2014 and is the German player to have worn the club’s jersey the most times, having made 417 appearances.”
It is believed that Carlo Ancelotti’s presence and the fact that he participated in the crucial games last season have both contributed to his continuity.
While Kroos hasn’t appeared on many highlight reels, his incredible range of passes frequently helps Los Blancos win games and dominate statistically.
The former Germany international played 52 matches for Los Blancos in the 2022/2023 season across six competitions; Laliga, Champions League, Copa del Rey, Club World Cup, Spanish Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup, and bagged two goals, plus six assists.
Few midfielders are as adept at maintaining possession as Kroos. But he will have stiff competition for playing time next season. Considering the presence of Fede Valverde, Luka Modric, Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos.
