Rangers International captain and midfielder, Chinemerem Ugwueze, says the Coal City Flying Antelopes are determined and prepared to fight Nasarawa United to submission in Sunday’s NPFL matchday-10 fixture at The Cathedral, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu, Completesports.com reports.
Ugwueze also revealed that the seven-time Nigerian champions have all it takes to stop the Solid Miners’ forward, Yusuf Anas, or any other player, from getting close to the Rangers’ vital area, let alone scoring a goal.
Yusuf is the current season’s leading scorer with nine goals in nine matches going into Sunday’s showdown at The Cathedral.

“Yes, we’re preparing for the match against Nasarawa United on Sunday with the determination and commitment to get the three points,” Ugwueze told Completesports.com in an exclusive interview.
“The point we got at Kwara United in last Sunday’s match in Ilorin is an additional motivation. We just need to build on that when we play Nasarawa United on Sunday here in Enugu.”
The Rangers midfielder admits that the Solid Miners are not a ‘small snake that could be cut with a blunt knife’.
He is also aware that Nasarawa United boast the current NPFL leading scorer in Anas Yusuf but emphasised that Rangers will work hard to stop him or any other Nasarawa United player from scoring.
“We know Nasarawa United to be one of the high-scoring teams in the league,” reiterated Captain Ugwueze.

“We also know that they parade the league’s leading scorer at the moment. We’ll work hard to get a win, even if it’s by a lone goal. What matters for us now is the three points, which we’ll work hard to secure.
“We’ll also work hard to stop Anas Yusuf or any other player of Nasarawa United, for that matter, from scoring against us,” Ugwueze asserted.
Rangers are ninth in the standings with 12 points after Match Day 9, while Nasarawa United sit in eighth position with the same 12 points going into Sunday’s Match Day 10 clash at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, otherwise known as the ‘Cathedral’.
