Marseille new boy Adrien Rabiot has revealed his affection for Taye Taiwo influenced his decision to join the club.
Rabiot recently linked up with the former Ligue 1 champions.
The France international joined Les Phoceens on a free transfer after severing ties with Serie A giants Juventus.
The 29-year-old expressed his deep connection with the club, citing Taiwo as one of the players who shaped his early passion for Marseille.

“When I was younger, I loved watching Marseille play,” Rabiot said at his unveiling ceremony.
“It was the era of players like Niang and especially Taye Taiwo. I admired his strength, his presence on the pitch, and his ability to score incredible goals from the left-back position. Watching him and others made me dream of one day wearing the same shirt.”
Taiwo was on the books of Marseille for six years.
The 39-year-old won one Ligue 1 title, two Coupe de la Ligue and one Trophes des Champions with the club.
