Bukayo Saka was voted Man of the Match as England battered Iran 6-2 in their Qatar 2022 World Cup group opener on Monday.
Saka marked his World Cup debut with a brace to help England get off to a perfect start.
The Arsenal star got England’s third and fourth goals and was impressive throughout the encounter.
Saka also became the youngest player to score two goals or more in a World Cup debut since Franz Beckenbauer in 1966.
Borussia Dortmund youngster Jude Bellingham opened the scoring for England with a glancing header off a superb cross from Luke Shaw.
Raheem Sterling doubled England’s lead as he slotted home Harry Kane’s cross, while substitutes Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish were also on the score sheet.

The big news for me is that England scored 6 goals, and Harry Kane did not score any.
How did that happen?
England looking really good.
Well said Brodaman Pompei. Kane tried a lot because he is a team player. Saka did well for picking England instead of Nigeria. Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze will play for England at the next World Cup.
Saka’s decision to ditch Nigeria is looking like a really wise move now. If he had joined Nigeria, he would have missed the world cup, and he will be owed months of match bonuses by NFF BEGGY BEGGY. Not to mention having to play on rubbish pitches. More grease to his elbow.
Just because They played a lowly rated team and he won man of the match. Let’s wait and see if they their mate and lose whether they will not single him out for abuse and racist attack. Shame shame shame.
Anyone picking darkness over light needs to consult a sociologist. Pick Nigeria and perish with ur talents. A country under Fulani and Hausa terrorists will never attain is potential. Well done Saka.
