Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum says his team is stronger now than at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The West Africans put up an impressive display at the World Cup, qualifying from a tough group that has Canada, co-hosts Australia and New Zealand.
The nine-time African champions are once again drawn in a tough group with Spain, Japan and Brazil for the Olympics.
The American stated that his players are battle ready for the task ahead.
“I like what I have been seeing. We had a good time in Spain and since we arrived France, it’s been fantastic and wonderful,” remarked Waldrum.
“The players are ready to go. We are in better condition than we were a year ago.
“The team have continued to improve since the World Cup. Hopefully, we will see that when we face Brazil, a very good side.”

I hope so because I will not comment until after todays match, and please it’s becoming annoying just stop benching the teams main scorer Esther Okoronkwo for any reason. Nobody hates foreign coaches but sometimes you people make strange choices and refuse corrections even when you’re losing you always want to make it seem like we’re average and that’s the best you can achieve. Best of luck to SF but my hopes are limited until proven otherwise. My views are personal and out of genuine sense.
The team must also note that Brazil is their main opportunity to earn 3 points because Japan and Spain are more difficult opponents technically speaking. We should also carry a mindset that if Czech Republic can defeat Spain 2-1 then we have no excuse not to win. Mentality of the players and honesty of the coaches is what will count in this competition as always.
