West Ham remain favourites to sign Olympiakos’ Leonardo Koutris after Rennes reportedly failed with a bid for the Greece left-back. Reports in Greece claim the Hammers are still in pole position for the 23-year-old as they seek a replacement for Arthur Masuaku, who is expected to leave in the summer.

West Ham sporting director Mario Husillos signed Koutris while he was briefly in charge of the Greek club’s transfer business in 2017 and it would be no surprise to see him target the player again in either this transfer window or the next.
He watched Koutris make his Greece debut in November against Finland and West Ham also sent a scout to Olympiakos’ Europa League clash with AC Milan in December. Rennes tried to make a move for him last week but were reportedly rebuffed by both the player and the club.
