Former Golden Eaglets coach, Fanny Amun has advised the Super Eagles to forget about the 2023 Africa Cup of Nation and focus attention on qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Amun made this known on the backdrop of Nigeria’s 2-1 loss to Ivory Coast in the final of the tournament on Sunday.
However, in a chat with News Agency Of Nigeria (NAN), he stated that qualifying for the World Cup should be the next priority of the team.

“The Eagles have done their best at the AFCON but the players need to do more by adding more dedications and strength in the field of play.
“2026 World Cup qualifiers are still ongoing, the [Super] Eagles need to gear up and get prepare to qualify for the tournament as we’ve a team that can be proud of.
“The [Super] Eagles should learn their lesson and get prepared for the [FIFA] World cup in 2026.”
