Vincent Collet has stepped down as the head coach of the French men’s national basketball team after an impressive 15-year tenure.
According to BeBasket, Collet will not be reappointed by the French Basketball Federation (FFBB).

Collet’s departure marks the end of a significant era for French basketball, which flourished under his leadership.
Reflecting on his career after the Paris 2024 final, Collet confirmed his decision to retire, expressing deep satisfaction with his journey.
“I’m done..These fifteen years have been a great privilege for me,” Collet stated.
“I’ve had the chance to experience incredible emotions, win medals with this French team, become European champion in 2013, and reach two Olympic finals. I am happy with all that.”
Throughout his career, Collet guided France to numerous international achievements, including two Olympic silver medals (Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024), two World Cup bronze medals (Spain 2014 and China 2019), and four EuroBasket medals, highlighted by a gold medal in Slovenia in 2013.
