Black Princesses of Ghana head coach, Yussif Basigi has expressed satisfaction with his team’s victory over the Falconets of Nigeria.
The hosts rallied from a goal down to beat the Falconets 2-1.
Loveth Edeh put Nigeria in front two minutes before the half hour mark at a packed Cape Coast Stadium.
Edeh profited from goalkeper Afi Amenyeku’s blunder to send the ball home.
Inspired by the home crowd the Black Princesses rallied in the second half to win keenly contested game.
Tracey Twum equalised for Ghana 12 minutes from time sending the game into extra time.
Mukarama Abdulai wrote her name into Ghanaian folklore with a classy winner in the 99 minute.
“I’m so proud of this team. We never stopped believing even when we went behind,” said Ghana coach Yussif Basigi.
“To win a final like this in front of our home fans is an incredible feeling. These girls are champions in every sense.”
