Wydad Casablanca forward Michael Babatunde says he is “relieved and happy” to score his 10th goal of the season to help his team to a 2-2 draw at home to IR Tanger reports Completesports.com.
Babatunde second-half close range strike, salvaged a point for Wydad Casablanca in the encounter.
The goal took Babatunde’s tally to ten goals this season across all competitions.
The draw means Wydad Casablanca remain top of the Brotola League in Morocco with 55 points from 28 games and they three points ahead city rivals Raja Casablanca.
It was also Wydad Casablanca’s first in their last four games in all competitions.
“I’m happy with the goal which earned us a point but not the result,” Babatunde told Completesports.com.
“The performance will give us something to cheer ahead of the CAR Champions League first leg semi-final against Esperance.”
Wydad Casablanca will host Esperance next Friday, the 24th of May with the return leg billed for the Tunis seven days later.
Babatunde also shrugged off talks of him excluded from Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
“I have shown why I deserve to be included but the remaining is with the coaching crew. All I can wish them success at the tournament.”
“We have a tricky group but I’m confident we will reach the last four with our squad.”

This guy is far better than Iheanacho with one goal to show for it, against Babatunde with 10 goals and yet, not get invited.
Babatunde is better than Chukwueze because of experience.
Ugo (Mr Chukwueze Lawyer), don’t insult me o.
Ajayi and Babatunde have done enough for Al Ahly and Zamalek but their major undoing is playing in African leagues. Both have the quality to be in the Super Eagles but unfortunately they’re not appreciated on the basis of their club.
Gbam!
Well.. We can’t get all our best legs in the team at once..
The coach still has the headache on choosing who to start and the formation to use…
The league you play in is your albatross to getting back into the fold of the Super Eagles.Find yourself a good league to play in and prove yourselve thereof.
