Jose Mourinho claimed his first ever win at St James’ Park following Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-1 win against Newcastle United, in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Prior to Wednesday’s game Mourinho, in his Premier League career, had managed more games without winning at St James’ Park than he had at any other stadium (four defeats, three draws).
A brace from Harry Kane and a strike from Heung-Min Son made it back-to-back wins for Spurs.

Matt Ritchie got Newcastle’s goal which made it 1-1.
Son opened scoring in the 27th minute after firing the ball into the corner.
In the 56th minute Ritchie equalised for Newcastle as he took one touch just inside the box and rifled the ball into the far corner.
On the hour mark Kane put Spurs back in front, planting a header back across the ‘keeper to make it 2-1.
In the 90th minute Kane pounced on Martin Dubravka’s parry to header home from close range.
Spur are now seventh on 55 points and are just four points away from fourth position with two games left to play.
In other Premier League games played, Manchester United beat relegation threatened Bournemouth 2-1 at the Etihad while Wolverhampton Wanderers held Burnley to a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor.
The draw took Wolves points to 56 in sixth position which is the Europa League qualification spot.
