Porto manager Sergio Conceicao has said Zaidu Sanusi will be sidelined for few weeks with injury.
The Nigeria international was substituted at half time during Porto’s UEFA Champions League away victory against Shakhtar Donestk on Tuesday night.
Conceicao said after the game that Sanusi sustained a muscle injury.
The 26-year-old didn’t train with his teammates on Thursday which makes him a doubt for Saturday’s (today) Primiera Liga clash against Gil Vicente.
Conceicao has now confirmed that the left-back will be out of action for the next few weeks.
” Zaidu(Sanusi) is out and will be out for the next few weeks,” Conceicao said per Sapo.

“It’s a muscle injury. Unfortunately, we have had some problems, like Marcano and Evanilson. We have solutions, and the injury doesn’t change the strategy or the plan.”
“We have other players who can fill the position, but of course, I always want everyone available.
Sanusi has made three appearances across all competitions for the Dragons this season.
The defender could now miss Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly against the Greens of Saudi Arabia as a result of the injury.
The friendly will take place at the
Estadio Municipal de Portimão, in Algarve on October 13.
He missed Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe this month due to suspension.
