Paul Pogba’s agent is ready to sit down with Manchester United chiefs to discuss his future, suggesting a possible thaw in relations.
Outspoken Italian-born Dutchman Mino Raiola has been a notable absentee from Old Trafford this season, as reports continue to circulate his client wants away.
Pogba’s former club Juventus plus Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with the World Cup-winning midfielder, although United have kept their own counsel as to whether they will actually sanction a £100m-plus sale at the end of this season.
However, United insiders have hinted Raiola will come to Manchester to discuss the ongoing future of Pogba in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s recent sacking.
That could even see the prospect of a new deal being raised, although it seems more likely the 25-year-old and Raiola are keen to discover what United’s eventual plan is for the Red Devils’ managerial hot seat.
There is no question Pogba’s mood has improved markedly since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was installed as interim boss, having scored four goals in his last three games.
Raiola is viewed with a large degree of suspicion by some United powerbrokers, although there is also an acceptance he remains a massive influence for Pogba when it comes to him making important career decisions.
