Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly close to taking charge at Paris Saint-Germain following Thomas Tuchel’s sacking.
Tuchel was sacked by PSG on Thursday morning despite leading the club to a 4-0 win against Strassbourg a day earlier.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Pochettino – who was strongly linked with the Manchester United job – has ended long-running speculation over his next career move by agreeing a deal to become PSG’s new manager.
Romano claims that PSG’s sporting director Leonardo has been in contact with Pochettino’s camp since the start of this week, and former Parisiens midfielder Thiago Motta was the other name on the Ligue 1 champions’ shortlist.
The PSG job will represent Pochettino’s return to management after nearly a year away from the game, with the Argentine having been sacked by Tottenham on November 19 last year.
