Super Falcons star Ashleigh Plumptre bagged a hat-trick to help Al-Ittihad thrash rivals Al Ahly 6-2, in the Saudi Arabia women’s Premier League on Thursday night.
It is Plumptre’s second hat-trick in the league, after first achieving the feat on matchday one in a 3-0 win at Eastern Flames FC in October.
The former Leicester defender doubled Al-Ittihad’s lead in the 29th minute as she slammed home a knock down pass inside the box with her right foot.
In first half added time, Plumptre made it 4-0. She collected a pass in the midfield charged forward and unleashed a long range left-foot volley past the keeper.

She then made it 5-0 still in added time, slotting home from a well taken set piece.
Plumptre has now taken her goals tally in the league to six from six games.
Also, she is joint top scorer with Tanzania’s Clara Luvanga who plays for Al Nassr.
The win against Al Ahly took Al-Ittihad temporarily to second place on 13 points in the eight-team league table.

Greenturf my brother, where art thou?
Compliments of the season bro.
Same to you @deo,hope you have a joyous season.
Back to Plumptre haha…I may have being hypercritical of Ashley Plumptre because i saw a budding talent which matured during the last world cup.
She was so impressive, her form was unbelievably good she bettered most of the 3 lionesses,i was hoping for her to join one of the top English teams and bring that experience back to the super falcons, only to be let down by the move to Saudi Arabia.
She’s a clever talent her ball passing and shooting abilities are spot on.I am a big fan perhaps the reason i had a sharp disapproval for the disappointing move which i think at the time was in error..
The quality of women football in Saudi Arabia is low, that’s not taking anything away from her performances so far.She has massively impressed, what the super falcon fans want is for her to bring her form to the super falcons camp.
We must qualify for the Olympics,we missed out on the last few editions,Ashly is one of the players we are hoping to make qualification possible.
Goodluck Ashley Plumptre,we wish you luck for the future,we love you!!
Plumptre is at it again. The second goal was a wowzer.

The sensational strike for her second goal was reminiscent of the bullet that crashed the bar agonizingly against England with goalkeeper Mary Earps well beaten.
Still, qualifying for the second round of the World Cup won our ladies CAF recognition whereas Ghanian players, male or female, were nowhere to be found in the CAF awards despite going to the Qatar world cup. 🙂
I worry though Plumptre development as a defender could be stunted. I doubt her credentials at the back are put to the ultimate test in Saudi Arabia as perhaps they would in a credible European league (hence Greenturf’s concerns, I guess).
All the same, more grease to her goalscoring elbows.
@ Monkey Post this babe know fit you ooo, we go collect her from you las las.
Lol…Abeg make una no try am o..I just got off the phone with her dad my father in-law..And we talked about her dowry
Dey play loll
I agree with your concerns @Deo.Take nothing away from her skills and techniques for the three goals. But no European team will allow her time and space to time and place her shots particularly that long range shot.A defensive midfielder would have forced her wide.Or a defender defending a cross from the blind side of an opposing player in her box! These are amateurish play.Whilst am happy for her, I am not too enthused.A defender scoring two hatricks in two matches! A move to a top English, Italian, Spanish or French team would have been ideal then a movement to the Saudi league when she is 30. But I understand, Babe moved for the Saudi Dollars
Toni, there is nothing more enjoyable than enjoying your work. Ashleigh is enjoying herself in Saudi Arabia, making cool money and cementing her position in the Super Falcons.
No national team coach will overlook a player who plays regularly and one brimming in confidence.
Plumptre is happy, happier than she would ever be in any European club right now. She is at last unleashing her attacking instincts and fury that would have be curtailed in any European club – after all she started out as a striker! Whilst all the while making cool money and becoming an iconic figure to Middle Eastern women and retaining her Super Falcons status.
What else can anyone dream of?
I feel you @ Deo but for good measures, how many goals did she scored in her whole 5 years playing for Leicester? Just 3.Don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely delighted for her, Just felt that at 27, she is in her prime and should be playing for Barcelona, Real Madrid or Lyon in a more competitive league. Mostly players in the twilight of their careers go to the Saudi League. If you play with the best it brings out the best in you.Let us hope she carries that form to the super falcons
