Gerard Pique has criticised Barcelona’s performance against Real Valladolid and says they must improve for their return to Europe. The Catalan giants had drawn three consecutive games ahead of Saturday’s La Liga clash at the Nou Camp.
They managed to get back to winning ways courtesy of a Lionel Messi penalty but they were less than convincing against a side battling relegation.

Barcelona, who sit seven points clear at the top of La Liga, now switch their focus to the Champions League on Tuesday.
Lyon play host to Ernesto Valverde’s side, having recently beaten Paris Saint-Germain, and Pique has stressed the need for improvement. “We didn’t play well, it wasn’t a good game,” Pique told Movistar. “The only good news is the victory, to get back to winning three points, but we have to improve. “The sensations are not good and, for Tuesday, we have to be better. If not, it will go poorly.”
