Pimienta: Iheanacho, Ejuke Ready To Face Barcelona

Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has revealed Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke are available for selection after their unpleasant ordeal on international duty.

Iheanacho and Ejuke had an horrific ordeal with Nigeria earlier this week after the national team was stranded in Libya for several hours.

The players and their officials stayed at the Al-Abaq Airport for several hours without access to water or food.

They returned to Nigeria on Monday night after pulling out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday four encounter against the Mediterranean Knights.

“Very unpleasant. Professional players having to spend so much time in an airport is something that cannot happen,” Pimienta told a press conference on Friday.

” The federations have to be aware of these situations. Spending a day almost without food and without sleep is not acceptable. Luckily they have arrived in perfect condition.”

Sevilla will confront Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Sunday looking to end their 21-year winless at the ground.
