Amiens have reportedly offered on-loan Erik Pieters the opportunity to make his temporary stay permanent. Despite making 21 Championship appearances for Stoke this season, former Netherlands international Pieters was shipped out on loan to Amiens in January after being told he wasn’t in Nathan Jones’ plans at the bet365 Stadium.

Since arriving at the Stade de la Licorne, the 30-year-old left-back has been a regular first-team fixture, making 10 Ligue 1 appearances and scoring in the 2-1 victory over Nimes last month. With his contract at Stoke running out this summer, the Tiel-born star is expected to leave and there are reports claiming he has been offered the chance to stay with Amiens for the foreseeable future.
It is claimed the Unicorns, who are four points above the relegation zone with five matches remaining, have put a two-year contract on the table for Pieters. However, it is also thought the defender has offers from the Netherlands and he says he “wants to keep my options open”.
