Jose Peseiro has expressed his displeasure with the performance of the Super Eagles despite a 3-2 win against 10-man Mozambique in Portugal on Monday, Completesports.com reports.
The Eagles came from a goal down to beat Mozambique thanks to goals from Terem Moffi, Frank Onyeka and Moses Simon.
Mozambique played most part of the game with 10 men after one of their player was sent off in the first half.
Despite having a player sent off, Mozambique still manage to pull a goal back to make it 3-2.
The Eagles came into Monday’s game on the back of a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia on Friday.
Speaking after the game, Peseiro questioned his players concentration level, passing and inability to convert their scoring chances.
“First of all I’m happy because after 15 friendly matches the Super Eagles eventually won a game, it’s good,” Peseiro said on NFF TV.
“Looking at the game especially the second half I didn’t like the performance, I expected more concentration. Our team is better than Mozambique, we needed to concentrate on finishing, good passing.

“My players felt at 3-1 and against 10 everything is done, I didn’t like that. There were many opportunities, we saw players go one on one win the keeper and didn’t score so I’m not happy.
“I prefer the match against Saudi Arabia because they put in much concentration but today’s game I didn’t like it.
“My players had the chance to score up to eight goals because they created many opportunities. There was no good crosses, no good finishing, nothing came out of our corner kicks.
“I’m happy because we won but my players need to understand that I’m not happy.“
Peseiro and his players will be back in action in November for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

One thing I
Like about this team is the way u sure gonna feel the goal is coming with the way they attack the opponent from the get go, if our strikers can combine half of the chances we created, we could be talking about the team scoring more than the goal they conceded bcos we sure know we gonna concede with that apare we call GK, the team is gradually taken shape.
That’s why we LOVE GENERAL ROAR during his time you will see scorelines like 1-0, 2-0 win highest or nil-nil draw. Great defense during his time…but from that eguaveon to pesero time, we are now having basketball scorelines like 5-4, 4-3, 4-4, 4-0 loss, 3-0 loss, 5-5 draw…smh…
You are blinded by your hypocritical bullshit….Maybe you forgot we almost lost to Sierra Leone at home in Benin when we were 4 goals up only to draw 4-4, Lost to the CAR in Nigeria…..No disrespect to Rohr’s achievement but don’t try to cherry pick shit. Rohr if I’m not wrong was Nigeria’s longest serving coach with an Afcon bronze and qualification to show for those 6 years. He couldn’t help Benin and let’s see how he will fare against us in the WCQ…
Don’t WORRY my MAN…
GENERAL ROAR will SHOCK you all
You’re unimpressed, but na you dey choose team and na you dey in charge of substitutions – You insist on forcing Calamity Frank in goal on innocent Nigerians – be careful O, you still have many supporters but pa pa pa laja fin gbebu o, remember that and do not be looking a gift horse in the mouth for too long
This your statement here, I believe is tongue-in-cheek but be warned, Nigerians will love you if you bring victory but if you don’t and the reasons are obvious like insisting on foisting Calamity Frank on the SE and not cracking down on discipline and dropping some of the obvious otus, also upping your tactical awareness and rolling up your sleeves so that it can rub off on the boys, then you might regret it further down the line.
So far I am loving your application and playing approach, which seems to be a high pressure game or as someone said earlier – defending from the front, please also make sure that defending continues right through to actual defenders and sort out the goalkeeping department! I like Uzoho as much as the next man but this is Nigeria and we cannot be sentimental as you will bring heartache to millions just to please one – Uzoho has had his run, God bless him but we must move on from him now – Please find another goalkeeper and this time open your eyes and be sure that he can be trusted and is not prone to errors like good ol’ Calamity
Thank you
My friend u don talk am finish, make them change am NFF no won hear word this is the problem in this country , the leaders will never hear the voice of the people !
This coach is just a complete waste of time and money he has nothing o offer our team not a dam thing pls lets get another coach fast ooh
Please bring in John Noble from Tanzania. He is doing very well there for Tabora United in the Tanzania premier league and is much better than calamity Francis Uzoho. He should be given a chance again with the Super Eagles.
What John Noble are you talking about??? Go and watch his past highlights you’ll know he’s even worst than Uzoho. For now we have no GK in Nigeria because of blindness from the scouting department or corruption.
I can compare the Nigerian team to a student going to write jamb exam and wants to use open book method in the exam hall . before u know wat is on time wil be gone u only pick ur answers and
move to the next question.
The eagles are on the field thinking of wat to do with the ball even when on one on one with the keeper.we can now see y players like messi , Ronald haaland are different. The know the angle to kill the keeper immediately with on touch.
So dey shud go and study about how to score with ease online
Roberto Mancini talk about Super Eagles scary attack
“we ended the game the better side. But we could have lost because of the number of chances we gave away,” he said.
“Nigeria have very quick attackers and they play to their strength. Even the ones who started were subbed off, the new guys are almost the same level.”
The former Italy national team manager, teams should be careful of Nigerian attackers, as,”the attack is scary.”
Thank you Femi. Is anyone still taking Monekey Post seriously. He is the African brother of rohr
I really dont think the coach as what it takes to take the eagles far. He has no technical ability, attach wise and defensive wise.
