Tottenham Hotspur defender, Ivan Perisic is set to miss the remainder of the 2023/2024 season after damaging his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in training.
Spurs confirmed on their website that Perisic, 34, sustained the injury during “non-contact training” and will undergo surgery before missing several months of action.
This season will see the end of Perisic’s current contract at the club, therefore he may have played his last game for Spurs.

The statement on Tottenham official website read: “We can confirm that Ivan Perisic has suffered a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee.
“The experienced Croatia international sustained the injury in non-contact training and will undergo surgery.
“Ivan will then commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff and is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.”
The Croatia international, who is surplus to requirement for Ange Postecoglou’s side hasn’t started a league game for Spurs this season, though he did come on to provide the assist for the equalizer when Tottenham defeated Sheffield United 2-1 in the dying embers of the Premier League encounter.
Perisic penned a two-year deal for the North London club under Antonio Conte last season. The former Inter Milan star made 44 appearances for the club, scored just once and provided 12 assists in all competitions in the last campaign.
It was a disastrous 2022/23 campaign for the 34-year-old and Tottenham as they finished in a disappointing 8th position in the Premier League.
Spurs were eliminated in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League last season and didn’t make it to the quarter-finals of both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
