Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez is convinced the club have a huge summer ahead, following the exit of Rafa Benitez. The club have already had a turbulent summer and last week it was announced that Benitez would leave the club at the end of his contract.
The Spaniard has since gone on to say that his “visions” of the club’s future differed with those of chairman Mike Ashley and he decided to not sign a new deal. He has since gone on to be named as manager of Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.

Perez, speaking for the first time since Benitez’s departure, did not commit to staying at St James’ Park, and admits it could be a big few months for the club, and himself personally. “I think five years is a long time. I’m one of those people who understands there’s a need to close a cycle to open a new one at the most opportunistic and convenient time.
Perhaps this is it. I have a feeling the summer will be big,” he told Binter Canarias’ in-flight magazine. “Apparently, there could be some good offers and there will be a need to make the best decision, the one that’s most appropriate to continue to grow. We’ll see if that’s here or somewhere else.”
