Ayoze Perez has hinted his future could lie away from Newcastle amid speculation of a potential return to Spain.
The 25-year-old is currently enjoying his best goalscoring season since joining the Magpies from Tenerife in 2014, as Saturday’s hat-trick against Southampton was not only his first for the club but also took him into the double figures for the very first time in a single campaign.
Perez has formed a particularly good relationship with Salomon Rondon and Miguel Almiron for Newcastle over recent months, although his good form appears to have attracted suitors from elsewhere, with reports suggesting a return to Spain could be on the cards.
Perez has two years remaining on his current contract at St James’ Park, although he has now indicated that he could be tempted by a move away from the club this summer. “In the summer, there are going to be options,” the striker was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror. “That means I have done something well.

I’ll be up for hearing what is coming, but it doesn’t mean I am going to leave 100 percent at the end of the season. “It is going to be a difficult decision and depends on a lot of things.” It is not the first time Perez has called his future at Newcastle into question as last month he told reporters in Spain that he wants to play for a ‘big club in La Liga’ at some stage of his career.
