“And Chris Wood is scoring goals, which is fantastic for the club as well. He is having a halcyon period in his career,” Pearce said.
“If he’s not fit, Taiwo Awoniyi did well last season so can step in for him. The bottom line is they’ve got threat on the counterattack with pace, and two goalscorers at the point of the team.”
Awoniyi since returning from injury, is yet to rediscover the impressive display of last season where he scored six goals in 20 Premier League game.

Perfect insult.
For a mam who was a youth champion of the world and presently is at the prime of his life, Awoniyi as a Nigerian should regard this as an insult and step up his game to be the top 9 of that average club.
Awoniyi had so much potential; can’t explain all the injury woes that have plagued him of late. I had so much hope in him seeing his exploits in the EPL last season. As it is, only Terem Moffi comes close to Osimhen in that No 9 role for Nigeria.
