Fulham caretaker boss Scott Parker believes he can bring the club’s identity back if he is given the job full-time. The former midfielder took charge on a temporary deal in February following Claudio Ranieri’s dismissal. Parker has been unable to steer the club in a more positive direction so far, losing three in a row, but in his defence two of those fixtures were against Chelsea and Liverpool.

Fulham’s next assignment doesn’t get any easier as they welcome Manchester City to Craven Cottage on Saturday, while they could have relegation confirmed as early as Tuesday after facing Watford. Despite their issues on the field, Parker is keen to take the reins permanently and feels he can help to restore their identity.
Parker said: “I want to be in a position to do well for myself and the team but it is not something that is banging at the front of my mind. “Ultimately I want to stamp my mark on this team because I feel like I can; I want to bring an identity back to us. “If the owners believe in that, then perfect. We will see what pans out.”
