Japan thrashed 10-player Black Queens of Ghana 4-0 in a friendly game played in Kanazawa on Saturday.
The game is part of Japan’s preparation for their group fixtures against Super Falcons of Nigeria, Brazil and Spain, at his summer’s Paris Olympics.
Japan has now won three consecutive friendly games, having defeated New Zealand 2-0 and 4-1 in May and June respectively.
Ghana, who had a player sent off in the 23rd minute, managed to go into the halftime break goalless.
But their resilience was finally broken as Mina Tanaka gave Japan the lead in the 51st minute, while Maika Hamano made it 2-0 on 65 minutes.
In the 67th minute Aoba Fujino added the third goal before Riko Ueki completed the rout by netting the fourth goal on 80 minutes.
Japan will open their campaign at the Olympics against women’s World Cup champions Spain July 25 and face Brazil July 28.
They will end the group stage with a clash against the Super Falcons on July 31.
This would be the second time the Super Falcons would face Japan in the football event at the Olympics.
The first and only time both countries clash led at the games was in the group stage at Athens 2004 with the Falcons winning 1-0.
In the last three meetings between both teams which have been in friendly games, Japan has won all by 2-0 score-lines.

Ghana Black Queens are not in the same league as Super Falcons, who are far superior as the top African team for almost 2 decades. Our girls will beat Japan women at the Olympics, I will wage on it.
Ghana na team???
Please next story….
Come back and write this nonsense about Ghana after playing Japan. You people will never learn, always disrespecting other teams but look at what is happening to your football now. If I were you I will be humble and not make these silly comments. You think Japan would’ve beaten us 4-0 if it wasn’t for the early red card? This was just a friendly, the real game is coming up soon
Football is wicked sometimes. The red card early in the march was a major disadvantage for Ghana. If Japan got a red card in 25 minutes, Japan could have lost the match to Ghana too.
Imagine! That was the reason Ghana lost woefully. I don’t know why the referee should issue a red card in a that kind of friendly match.
The match have not brought out the purpose Japan needed Ghana for.
Beat South Africans girls and we would have a valid arguement, who be Ghana black Queens?
I think Super falcons are better than the Ghana girls in ranking and in everything. Please if we go down memory lane you will know that our darling team has been to the quarter finals at the olympic games and they have what it takes to come out of the group.
Japan can not stop Nigeria girls and i must say that the Super falcons will surprise the world this time around.
Go girls and make us Proud
