Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have expressed confidence in securing another victory in their second group-stage clash against the host nation, France, at the Paris 2024 Olympics women’s basketball game, scheduled for Thursday, August 1, Completesports.com reports.
D’Tigress stunned the world by outclassing Australia with a 13-point margin, 75-62, in their Group B opener on Monday, July 29, securing their first win of the campaign.

That victory marked D’Tigress’s first win since they defeated South Korea 68-64 in the classification game at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
According to a post on the team’s X (formerly Twitter) handle, D’Tigress assured fans of their resilience and commitment, expressing their hunger for another great result.
“Momentum was our focus word today in practice. One win is not enough! We are not going to settle for that! We made history, okay?? So what’s next? Regardless of any outcome, we stay the course, we stay together, and we keep our eyes on the prize. We are not leaving here empty-handed!,” their message on X reads.
France defeated Canada 75-54 in their first group match and is currently at the top of the Group B standings, with Nigeria in the second position. Australia and Canada are in third and fourth positions respectively.
