Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum remains optimistic his side will put up a good performance at the 2024 Olympic Games despite their defeat to Canada on Wednesday.
Waldrum’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat against the reigning Olympic champions.
Jordyn Huitema’s eighth minute strike separated both teams on the night.
The American declared that the lesson learnt from the game would be valuable for his team in Paris.

“Obviously, you would like to win with results at the end of the day but I think our performance was a very positive performance. We were very good in the attacking phase, our possession was good,” Waldrum was quoted by Afrik Foot.
“I thought it was a much better performance than we had in the World Cup against them (Canada). We created more chances against them than we did at the World Cup. I have seen a lot of improvement since the World Cup until now.
“Even though I am disappointed with the one mistake, we turned the ball over in a bad place, I thought we were good today.
“A lot of questions I had were answered today, including the penalty kicks. I am confident as we head to Paris for the Olympics.”
The Super Falcons will face a formidable challenge at the Olympics where they will compete against powerhouses Brazil, Spain, and Japan.

You keep benching Esther Okoronkwo who scored a lot of goals when you claimed to resign, and you expect who to score? Is it Chiwendu Ihezuo that will score the goals Nigerians desire or you’re playing her as a defensive striker. Nigerians should buckle up for 10 defenders at this Olympics because this man will not be humble enough to ask Magudu for some goal scoring tips. I will not be speaking on this subject again because mouth dey pain person already.
You left Ordega for one used less Onumonu. Ordega is creative and can create chances as for Onumonu aside being an Americana, has not justified her inclusion in the team. We the fans deserve better.
I still believe in you though Waldrum.
Regina Otu should have replaced injured Ayinde. The choice of Onumonu is strange, considering the team is already loaded with attackers!
Onumonu is the cream of the crop. She is far and away better than others.
Maybe in the oza room?
Great response coache some of our people reasoning is just too pathetic. After careful concentration I think I might stop visiting CS to avoid contagious low IQ of this present Nigeria Generation rubbing on my sense of reasoning.
Hahahahaha…..and an example of High IQ is your senseless suggestion that “…Magudu’s goal scoring tips…” against Cape Verde and Ethiopia…” is what Waldrum needs learn in order to be able to face Spain, Japan and Brazil….LMAOOoo.
Mr high IQ who says Ehtiopia is a bigger women’s footballing nation than Cameroon….LMAOoo
You have been threatening to stop visiting CSN for over 5 years now yet nobody seems to even notice you…..LMAOOo. Who cares if you hang yourself after today…? Who even needs you or misses your presence or absence of CSN…..LMAOOo.
Whoever sold you that lie that you are anything close to even being averagely intelligent deserves hell fire….LMAOoo
Pompous half-educated illiterate.

How many chances and goals did Ordega create or score from the beginning of the last 2022 AWCON qualifiers till the end of the World Cup….?
Since Waldrum took over please name any CF (yea, any CF including Oshoala) who has more goal contributions for the SF than Onumonu…?
It was Onumonu’s intelligent and inch perfect assist that took us to the last World cup, after herself scoring about 4 goals in the sequence of qualifying matches. It was also her classic header off the upright that resulted in the scramble that gave Nigeria the lead vs Morrocco in the AWCON semifinals when we were 2 men down.
Tell us Onumonu has not proven fit enough this season to make the SF list and we will agree, but to say she has not justified her inclusion in the SF is nothing but Hate Speech.
Ordega bawo??? If a player merits a call up fine not that backdoor activity. If she was in top form why won’t Waldrum invite her…An Edo Queens player displaced Imuran who plays regularly in the French league Not some grandmothers trying to use their friends to be included as a last honor lmaoo.
Ordega is the same age of 30 years as Onumonu. So Ordega too should have been considered even though Onumonu is far better.
