Former Nigerian international, Dosu Joseph has advised the Super Falcons to approach today’s 2024 Olympic qualifiers against Banyana Banyana with a winning mentality.
Recall that last week Friday at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Rasheedat Ajibade’s penalty in the 42nd minute gave Nigeria a slim one-goal advantage going into the second leg.

In the last three games between the two sides, South Africa have defeated Nigeria twice – 2-1 at the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2021 and the final of the Aisha Buhari Cup (4-2) while the Super Falcons got one over Banyana Banyana last week.
However, in a chat with Completesports.com, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist stated that the team must maintain focus and capitalise on every goal scoring chances against South Africa.
“It will be a tough battle between two of Africa’s finest women team. I know the Super Falcons knows what is a stake and will want to approach the game with a winning mentality.
” For sure, South Africa will be eager to approach the game aggressively in a bid to search for the early goals but our players must remain calm.
