Nigeria’s Samuel Ogazi has qualified for the men’s 400m final at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Ogazi finished third in heat 3 of the 400m semi-finals with a personal best time of 44.41s.
Great Britain’s Matthew Hudson-Smith won the race in a time of 44.07s, while Michael Norman came second in a time of 44.26s.

Ogazi is the first Nigerian athlete to qualify for the men’s 400m final in 36 years.
Innocent Egbunike was the last Nigerian to achieve the feat.
The final of the event will hold on Thursday.

Great prospect Ogazi at 18yr whichever position in the final will not be bad, I hope our federation will do well to groom this guy for him to improve into a medal hopeful come next Olympics and World championships.
