Fourteen just arriving three days to a crucial match: This underscores the yearning to build from home calls.
How do you expect them to fare against a team that would be almost two weeks in camp by Friday?
Nigeria is not ready o, truth be told.
Shey Oshoala isn’t even getting to camp until Thursday…
Oshoala will arrive soon. Nigeria are not prepared.
Oshoala will arrive soon. Nigeria is not prepared.
Funny enough…
Is the coach prrsent in camp
Even the coach is not in camp
The next thing, they will ask you to pray that Naija gonna win. How many times will ASARI tells you that Nigeria isn’t 4you?
THEIR MUMU IS TOO MUCH.
This is true,
I know there are logistical issues to long camps, especially if it’s not season end, but has anyone noticed Nigerian teams perform very well after long camping? They often struggle in qualifiers but become giant killers in the tournament proper.
We saw these in action at the last Afcon and the Women’s World Cup. Before the last Afcon when Paseiro was churning out heartbreaking results, fans clamored for his removal. Then he had a 2 weeks camp in Dunai where he said he was finally able to get his team buy into his philosophy. Well, they got to the final.
For Waldrim and his girls, most of us had little hope for the team. But they were going all the way before the lottery of penalties stopped them.
My point? An average team that gets 2 weeks to fine-tune their strategies might have an edge over a super team that gathers and enters the field in 2 days or less.
South Africa already believes they’re the best in Africa and to cement that claim, they’re desperate to beat the FIFA-recognised best team on the continent. For them, this is not just about the Olympics tickets. It’s a bragging right. We win and we shut their mouths up. We mess up and we hand them that title they desperately crave.
In spite of the last 2 results, I believe Nigeria is still the best team in Africa and in the top 10 in the world – just as FIFA rankings show. Our shortcomings have always been administrative aka NFF. Ellis and her charges know this and that’s why they’re maximizing the only time to get that edge.
I just hope we don’t have any disjointed play on Friday that belies the team;s true potential. Oshoala, Kanu, Rinsiola, Onumonu etc must be clinical in front of goal, no over-dressing or showboating please (Oshoala in particular). Just put it away with precision the first time you get. Go for the Tuesday return leg with a healthy advantage.
Cos for me too, this is more than the Olympic ticket. SF beat this loug mouth Ellis for us and also that Linda Motlhalo and their former captain Janine van Wyk, who both can’t hide their resentment on and off-field.
Correct. U said it all.
With just a month plus, our inefficient, uncoordinated, and lackluster NFF is yet to name the Golden Eaglets coach officially. The WAFU B U17 qualifiers will commence 17th of May 2024 and we yet to announce and commence preparation. I wonder when this organization will become proactive in term of organization. Note if by Friday, 5th the coach is not officially mention or appointed the team will not perform well at the tournament and it should be attributed to poor preparation from the usual NFF ineptutudenes. We are keeping the records of the present NFF. God bless Nigeria.
South Africa will whoop them over two legs. They are just entitled. If NFF was serious, there would be a dozen home based players in camp whilst the pro join them later. A society that is incapable of learning anything. Scores will be 2-0 in Abuja and they will start blaming everything but themselves.
Nigeria Super Falcons are not complete in camp for a crucial Olympic match against a strong South African Team, who are the current African Champion, well prepared and had been in Abuja Nigeria since four (4) days ago! Nigerian Team is a joke! The Bayana Bayana coach once said that the match against Nigeria is going to be “WAR” and had followed through by being well prepared and had arrived for the match early. I wish them well.
