The Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, has released an initial 16-player list for the country’s national senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, gearing up for the Paris 2024 Olympics Games billed to get underway from July 26 untill August 10, Completesports.com reports.
The list posted on the NBBF’s ‘X’ handle includes Ezinne Kalu, Amy Okonkwo, Promise Amukamara and Elizabeth Balogun.
Other invited players are; Tomi Two, Ifunanya Okoro, Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah, Murjanatu Musa, Lauren Ebo and Blessing Ejiofor.
NBBF also listed Solape Amusan, Rita Igbokwe, Nicole Enabosi, Adebola Adeyeye, Christeen Iwuala and Lucy Ibeh
The final 12 women list will be picked after D’Tigress’ warm up game in Saarbrucken, Germany for a pre-Olympic training camp.
The Nigerian team will play in a tough Paris 2024 women’s basketball Group B, which includes powerhouse teams like Australia, Canada, and host nation France. All three are ranked in the top 7 of the FIBA world rankings.
