Russian-born Kazakhstani professional tennis player Elena Rybakina withdrew from the Olympics tennis competition on Thursday, July 25, a few hours after the draw was made at Roland-Garros.
Kazakhstan’s former Wimbledon champion, as reported by Reuter, pulled out of the singles and mixed doubles, in which she was due to partner Alexander Bublik.

Her reason for her withdrawal was not stated.
France’s Caroline Garcia will now move into Rybakina’s spot in the draw as the 17th seed, while Australia’s Daria Saville enters the draw as an alternate.
She started her Wimbledon season at the Adelaide International 1, making it to the final, where she was defeated by world No. 1, Ash Barty.
Her success continued at the Sydney Tennis Classic with a lopsided defeat of reigning US Open champion Emma Raducanu in the first round.
She subsequently withdrew from the tournament, citing a thigh injury. She reached a career-high ranking of No. 12 on January 17, 2022.
Her remaining early hardcourt season saw little progress, with a second-round retirement and a walkover at the Australian Open and St. Petersburg Ladies’ Trophy, respectively, and a first-round loss at the Qatar Ladies Open.
Her “Sunshine Double” (Miami and Indian Wells) saw improvement with a quarterfinal appearance at the Indian Wells Open against Maria Sakkari and a third-round appearance against Jessica Pegula at the Miami Open.

Will miss Elena, CS get your facts right the world No1 is Swiatek Iga and not Bathy who’s not even in the top20 WTA rankings.
Perhaps Mr. Omisakin meant that Barty was the world number one at the time they met.
Barty is long retired. There is no way she’s the current number one.
Barty’s fellow Australian tennis player, a retired legend named Evonne Goolagong Cawley, once said:
RACISM IS ABOUT EDUCATION. RACISM IS IGNORANCE.
Totally agree.
The racist individual is ignorant and stupid. When an individual does not have the benefit of a well rounded education, and the individual is also arrogant and daft, racism becomes a possible character flaw.
I’m talking with the recent uncouth behaviour of the Argentine national team in mind. Singing racist chants to belittle French players of African descent. Utterly disgraceful.
The rampant racism in countries like Argentina suggests that their school curriculums are perhaps a little light. Educators in these countries need to step things up a notch, so the young ones growing up do not also become undomesticated, feral savages, like the generations before them.
