Crystal Palace have been linked with a swoop for Dutch youngsters Jerdy Schouten and Thomas Ouwejan during the summer transfer window. Manager Roy Hodgson is looking to bolster his squad to try and push on from last season’s 12th-place finish when the Eagles won 14 games en route to 49 points.
Many names have been linked to Selhurst Park and the latest are a pair of 22-year-old stars who feature in the Eredivisie. Midfielder Schouten plays for Excelsior, who finished 16th in the Dutch top-flight and were relegated but he enjoyed an impressive campaign for The Kralingers.
A few clubs in his homeland are thought to be keen but it is being reported that the former SC Telstar ace is keen to play in England. Ouwejan, a Netherlands Under-21 left-back, was on the Palace radar last season, with scouts in attendance at many of AZ’s games to watch him in action. It is not known how much the pair would cost but, if Wilfried Zaha leaves, there will be funds available.
